The conference where it "just means more" will once again be full of top contenders, with SEC powers Georgia and Texas being among the teams with the highest win totals in the country.
However, my favorite 2026 SEC win total predictions target two other blue-blood programs who reached the College Football Playoff last year, Alabama and Oklahoma, while fading a recent feel-good story in the conference.

Favorite SEC Over win total bets
Alabama Over 8.5 wins (-120)
Has Alabama taken a step back under Kalen DeBoer? Without a doubt, but Nick Saban is the greatest coach in college football history, and DeBoer has still managed 9+ regular-season wins in each of his first two seasons as Crimson Tide head coach, including a trip to the CFP last year.
And while Alabama isn't atop the CFP National Championship odds, the Tide are still a legitimate title contender this season, especially if Keelon Russell lives up to the hype. The former five-star recruit winning the Heisman is one of Brad Powers' favorite college football long-shot futures this season for a reason. Russell is dynamic and has been compared to former Heisman winner Jayden Daniels.
DeBoer and Ryan Grubb have put plenty of talent around him too. The Tide bring back big-play receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams and have an offensive line full of former high-end recruits like Lloyd Jackson and Michael Carroll. Plus, the addition of five-star freshman EJ Crowell should bolster the run game.
Kane Wommack's defense, though, is where Alabama is being slept on. The Tide are No. 32 in returning defensive production (61%) and bring back a pair of potential first-round picks (Yhonze Pierre, Zabien Brown) and an All-American candidate in Bray Hubbard, on top of adding key transfers in the front seven.
The schedule isn't as killer as some other SEC teams' either, sitting 38th nationally in SOS (.566).
Oklahoma Over 7.5 wins (-150)
Brent Venables went from the hot seat to the College Football Playoff to signing a new six-year contract over the course of a year, and despite all of that, Oklahoma is being slept on this season. The Sooners have the same win total as a Florida team with a new head coach that's coming off a 5-7 season.
Oklahoma might not make it back to the CFP, but 8+ wins? That seems like the best bet in the entire conference - Powers highlighted the Over on the Sooners' win total in his SEC preview too. The bulk of the team that won 10 games last year is back, including both coordinators (Ben Arbuckle, Todd Bates), with the Sooners ranked 16th nationally in returning production (65%).
Leading the offense is QB John Mateer, who played most of last season with a thumb injury on his throwing hand, and last year's leading receiver Isaiah Sategna III. Venables also brought in more weapons with Trell Harris (Virginia), Parker Livingstone (Texas), Rocky Beers (Colorado State), and Hayden Hansen (Florida).
While the offense should improve, the defense is where Venables has made his money, and it's once again what will carry OU to 8+ wins. The Sooners bring back All-SEC talent at every level, led by multi-year starters (Kip Lewis, Peyton Bowen) and budding stars (David Stone, Taylor Wein, and Courtland Guillory).
Even with a tough schedule, Oklahoma should push for nine wins thanks to its offensive experience and loaded defense.
Favorite SEC Under win total bets
Arkansas Under 3.5 wins (+134)
After firing Sam Pittman midseason and opting not to install interim head coach Bobby Petrino in the full-time role for the second time (as some boosters wanted), Arkansas made one of the least-celebrated Power 4 hires of the offseason, Ryan Silverfield.
It's not that Silverfield is a bad head coach, but is he really the guy who will turn around the Razorbacks in the SEC? I have my doubts, and so do Memphis fans, based on the social media reaction when Silverfield left for Fayetteville.
He certainly won't be doubling Arkansas' wins from last year's 2-10 campaign in Year 1 with a transfer-heavy lineup made up of predominantly Group of 6 and FCS transfers. Arkansas is projected to start at least a dozen transfers from a portal class that was ranked third-worst in the SEC.
Beyond pass rusher Quincy Rhodes Jr., there's little proven SEC talent on a roster that's playing one of the toughest schedules in the country - it includes Georgia, Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, and even Utah in non-conference play.
Vanderbilt Under 5.5 wins (+120)
Tabbed as one of Powers' least improved teams in college football, the loss of Diego Pavia cannot be understated for Vanderbilt. Before Pavia left New Mexico State for Vandy, along with his coaches Jerry Kill and Tim Beck, the Commodores made just two bowl games from 2014 to 2023.
In the first three years of Clark Lea's tenure at Vanderbilt, before bringing in Pavia, he went 9-27. And while reverting to being an SEC bottom-feeder isn't likely, it's going to be tough for Vanderbilt to go bowling without the best player in program history.
Vanderbilt is ranked 106th nationally in returning production (44%) and is set to have a first-time starting QB. Under center, it will either be five-star freshman Jared Curtis or Blaze Berlowitz, who backed up Pavia at New Mexico State and Vanderbilt, with both expected to play early.
Though the Commodores do have floor-raising players in Junior Sherrill, Sedrick Alexander, Jordan Matthews, and Miles Capers, the lack of returning production paired with a portal class ranked second-worst in the SEC is going to make conference play hell.
