The Ohio State Buckeyes will look to run their record to 11-0 on Saturday as they play host to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Expect the Buckeyes to run up the score at home, and that has me targeting the Over in my Ohio State vs. Rutgers predictions.

Let’s dive into this Week 13 matchup with my free college football picks for November 22.

Rutgers vs Ohio State prediction

Rutgers vs Ohio State best bet: Over 55.5 (-110)

Ohio State is going to have to make sure it’s not looking ahead a week to its marquee matchup with Michigan, but other than that, there’s little worry for the home team on Saturday.

The Buckeyes will blow out Rutgers, and while the Ohio State defense might be the star of the show, the weakness of the Scarlet Knights' defense also means that the No. 1 team in the nation will light up the scoreboard early and often.

Rutgers is allowing 425.5 yards and 30.0 yards per game on the season, and it is among the worst defenses against both the run (6.6 yards per rush) and the pass (8.5 yards per attempt). Bo Jackson, James Peoples, and CJ Donaldson (if available) should run roughshod over the Scarlet Knights, while Julian Sayin and his 80.1% completion percentage will light up Rutgers through the air.

Although the Scarlet Knights are averaging a middling 29.9 ppg, I’m counting on them putting up at least 10 points to help cash the Over.

Rutgers vs Ohio State same-game parlay

While I’m taking the Over as my best bet, Ohio State is also a great bet to win against the spread, as the Buckeyes have already won by 33+ points on four occasions this year.

That will mean plenty of play for the running game, so I’m taking Bo Jackson to hit his yardage total and James Peoples to add to the two touchdowns he scored last week.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
