The Central Michigan Chippewas hope to keep their slim MAC championship hopes alive when they face the Kent State Golden Flashes in MACtion action.

The Golden Flashes' secondary has leaked passing yards, and my Central Michigan vs. Kent State predictions expect a big passing game from the Chips' QB Joe Labas.

Read on for my college football picks for Wednesday, November 19.

Central Michigan vs Kent State prediction

Central Michigan vs Kent State best bet: Joe Labas Over 152.5 passing yards (-114)

The Kent State Golden Flashes are 3-1 ATS at home this season, but they’ve still surrendered 268.5 passing yards per game, making them one of the worst pass defenses in the country.

That leaky defense also makes them a prime target for Central Michigan Chippewas senior quarterback Joe Labas

Kent State ranks near the bottom nationally in explosive passes allowed and just gave up 424 yards through the air to Akron’s Ben Finley.

Labas has been efficient all season, completing 72.2% of his throws for 1,313 yards and 10 touchdowns. With no wind or rain in the forecast, along with strong protection in front of him, it makes an ideal opportunity for another big passing game.

The senior also grew up just down the road in Brecksville and is coming off a season-high 247 passing yards against Buffalo.

Labas’ passing yards prop is too low. Play the Over.

Central Michigan vs Kent State same-game parlay

Langston Lewis is Labas’s favorite target. He’s cleared his receiving yards total in three straight games and meets a KSU stop unit allowing 113 passing plays of over 10+ yards.

As two-score underdogs, Dru DeShields could be staring down a large deficit. He threw five TD passes last week against Akron, and he meets a CMU defense that’s allowed 14 passing touchdowns this season.

Central Michigan vs Kent State SGP

  • Joe Labas Over 152.5 passing yards
  • Langston Lewis Over 47.5 receiving yards
  • Dru DeShields Over 1.5 touchdown passes

Our deep-ball SGP: Through the air

Kent State doesn’t run the ball well. CMU boasts a stout rushing defense. Jordan Nubin has rushed for more than 46 yards once this season and won’t likely get enough touches to clear his rushing yards prop.

The Golden Flashes are playing good football. They are 3-1-0 ATS at home and face a CMU squad with a 3-3-0 ATS road mark.

Central Michigan vs Kent State SGP

  • Joe Labas Over 152.5 passing yards
  • Langston Lewis Over 47.5 receiving yards
  • Dru DeShields Over 1.5 touchdown passes
  • Jordan Nubin Under 35.5 rushing yards
  • Kent State +9.5
