John Blackwell plays with passion and after Washington talked some smack ahead of this Big Ten tournament tilt, Jason Logan likes the Wisconsin guard to power through his points prop.

The Wisconsin Badgers thumped the Washington Huskies 90-73 less than two weeks ago in Seattle. These programs meet again today in Round 3 of the Big Ten tournament.

Junior guard John Blackwell had a quiet seven points in that win over the Huskies, marking the only time he’s failed to score double figures over his last 17 games.

If Blackwell wasn’t already motivated enough to atone for that 3-for-9 shooting performance, he caught a stray from Washington guard Zoom Diallo, who downplayed Blackwell’s shooting following the Huskies’ victory over USC.

Our Washington vs. Wisconsin predictions lean toward the Badgers, with my college basketball picks banking on Blackwell taking things personally. That only seems fitting inside the United Center.

Washington vs Wisconsin best bet

Washington vs Wisconsin best bet: John Blackwell Over 18.5 Points (-112)

Player models already like John Blackwell to top his points prop against the Washington Huskies, with forecasts flirting with 20 points for the Wisconsin Badgers guard.

Blackwell is a busy 3-point threat but can also create in isolation when the offense breaks down. The Huskies will sell out to stop Wisconsin from deep, stretching their defense and leaving a lot of room to get to the rim.

Blackwell is coming off 25 points versus Purdue, and with Nolan Winter likely sidelined, there are offensive touches up for grabs. His energy is too much for a tired Washington defense.

Washington vs Wisconsin same-game parlay

Game models give the nod to Wisconsin. Washington was lucky to escape USC and will have heavy legs after playing OT in that win.

Blackwell scores from outside, at the rim, and the free-throw line. He thrives away from Wisconsin, too, averaging 18.8 points outside of Madison.

Zoom Diallo fired up a season-high 20 shots, and his second-most free-throw attempts (7-for-8) in the OT win over the Trojans. I don’t see him getting the same looks, especially with a target on his back after talking smack.
