The top two teams in the Big West will play for the conference title tonight, as the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors face the UC Irvine Anteaters.

After splitting two regular-season matchups, the Anteaters come into this title game as the hotter team, and I’m going with them to win outright in my Hawaii vs. UC Irvine predictions below.

Keep reading to see my full analysis of tonight’s matchup in my free college basketball picks for Saturday, March 14.

UC Irvine vs Hawaii prediction

UC Irvine vs Hawaii best bet: UC Irvine moneyline (-115)

Coming into this game, both teams rate out very similarly, and their two tight regular-season clashes bear that out. The UC Irvine Anteaters come in on a five-game winning streak, while the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors took a loss to the Long Beach State Beach last week.

The Rainbow Warriors have also gone 3-5 against the spread in their last eight, showing a slight dip down the stretch.

I’m banking on the UC Irvine defense – which is holding teams to just 38.4% shooting from the floor – to be the difference tonight.

Based on that and the Anteaters recent form, I’m taking them to win outright.

UC Irvine vs Hawaii same-game parlay

Both teams rate in the top 50 nationally in defensive efficiency according to KenPom.com, and in a conference title game, I expect that to show and produce an Under for bettors.

I’ll take UC Irvine’s Jurian Dixon (16.0 ppg) to get over his own scoring total, however, as he’s put up 18+ points in each of his last three games.

UC Irvine vs Hawaii SGP

  • UC Irvine moneyline
  • Under 142.5
  • Jurian Dixon Over 16.5 points

Our beyond the arc SGP: Dishing!

I’m going to take two more Anteater prop bets, along with taking UC Irvine to win and the Under to hit.

First, I like Kyle Evans to go Over 8.5 rebounds, as he’s averaged 8.5 boards for the season.

I’ll also back Derin Sarran to dish out Over 2.5 assists, something he’s done in each of his last three games.

  • Kyle Evans Over 8.5 rebounds
  • Derin Sarran Over 2.5 assists

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
