Oscar Cluff has been beating up on smaller foes in the Big Ten tournament. Now he runs into a massive Michigan frontcourt. While Purdue's big man may not score more, his passing has been on point the past month.

The Purdue Boilermakers have been able to bully their way to the Big Ten tournament title game but now have to pick on someone their own size this afternoon.

That someone is the Michigan Wolverines, who roll out a massive lineup that towers over even Purdue's big men.

Senior center Oscar Cluff has been huge for Purdue’s postseason push, averaging 16 points and seeing his offensive activity spike in those three games.

But with Aday Mara patrolling the paint, along with a long and athletic UM frontcourt, Cluff won’t have clean looks inside and instead will be used as a facilitator.

Our Purdue vs. Michigan predictions are higher on Cluff’s playmaking and my college basketball picks take the 6-foot-11 center to go Over his modest assist total today.

Purdue vs Michigan prediction

Purdue vs Michigan best bet: Oscar Cluff Over 1.5 assists (+122)

Oscar Cluff has shot more in the tournament, with almost 10 attempts per game — a jump from his 5.5 FGAs in conference play.

Cluff faced smaller defenses, but won’t get those same advantages against the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan doesn’t get pushed around inside and protects the paint, using its length to force foes to the perimeter.

Cluff, however, will be a conduit.

The Purdue Boilermakers will drop the ball into the post, compact the UM defense, and kick out to shooters. Cluff had two assists in each tournament tilt and has dished 2+ dimes in nine of his last 11 games.

Purdue vs Michigan same-game parlay

The Wolverines haven’t shot well in their two tournament outings, but faced much stiffer defensive competition from Ohio State and Wisconsin. Purdue leans more into its offense, and this game could turn into a shootout if UM finds its form. They put up a combined 171 points in their last meeting, and most game models sit 155 or higher.

Trey McKenney is getting more minutes off the bench since L.J. Cason went down and is making the most of them. He’s knocked down two triples in each of his last three games while attempting a collective 16 threes over that span.
