The Minnesota Lynx will try to break a three-way tie for the most wins in the WNBA tonight when they host the Phoenix Mercury.

Minnesota starts the day in a tie with Vegas and Golden State with wins atop the WNBA leaderboard at 17 apiece.

With Phoenix reeling, my Mercury vs. Lynx predictions and WNBA picks have the home team taking advantage on July 13.

Mercury vs Lynx prediction

Mercury vs Lynx best bet: Lynx -12.5 (-115)

The Phoenix Mercury are coming off the third-largest loss in WNBA history (a 106-58 annihilation to Vegas) and now face a Minnesota Lynx team that's beaten them twice already this season.

The Lynx are back to full strength with rookie Olivia Miles returning from injury to score 23 points against New York. In the two previous meetings, Minnesota held Phoenix to 37% shooting while dominating the glass (+23 rebounds) and the paint (+42 points).

Those matchup edges make the Lynx the deserved favorite again, but the line is approaching its ceiling. I'd back Minnesota but wouldn't go past -12.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Lynx are the only team in the WNBA that ranks inside the Top 4 in both scoring (90 points per game) and points allowed (80.9). Those both rank second in the league.

Mercury vs Lynx same-game parlay

I’m targeting the point guards for my SGP. Miles’ return to the lineup against New York with a 4-for-7 mark from 3-point range. That’s one more than she had in her previous five games combined.

She’s only strung together 2+ makes in back-to-back games once, but Phoenix is a prime candidate for Miles to hit that mark again: the Mercury have the worst 3-point shooting defense in the league, with teams hitting at a sharp 37.4% clip.

And I’m taking the Under for Alyssa Thomas’ assist line. The WNBA’s co-assist leader had just one dime against Vegas and has gone Under tonight's line in three straight. Thomas has also gone Under this number in both games against Minnesota this year.
