Naessens' prediction: UCLA wastes no time in building a big lead over Oklahoma State.

The Women’s March Madness second round ends tonight with a good one when the Oklahoma State Cowgirls visit Pauley Pavilion and the UCLA Bruins.

The Bruins like to put away teams early, and my Oklahoma State vs. UCLA predictions expect them to do just that.

Read on for my Women’s March Madness picks for Monday, March 23.

Oklahoma State vs UCLA prediction

Who will win Oklahoma State vs UCLA?

UCLA: The UCLA Bruins haven’t lost since November 26. They are terrific ball handlers, and Lauren Betts has a tremendous size advantage that she and the Bruins will exploit enough to win this game.

Oklahoma State vs UCLA best bet: UCLA first half -14.5 (+100 at bet365)

The UCLA Bruins are just the better team. They shoot better and, more importantly to an early cover, turn mistakes into nearly 19 points per game

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls commit 13.8 turnovers per game, which is a problem. They also rely heavily on points from turnovers at 20.5 per game, but UCLA allows a tidy 10.6 PPG in that area.

At home, where UCLA is undefeated, expect them to feed off the crowd, force miscues, and build an early enough lead behind transition scoring and Betts' mismatches to cover the first-half number.

Covers COVERS INTEL: UCLA led the nation in Offensive NET Rating (122), which helped fuel this season’s 28.9-point margin of victory.

Oklahoma State vs UCLA same-game parlay (SGP)

UCLA first half -14.5

Oklahoma State team total Under 56.5

Under 139.5

Without the points from turnovers, Oklahoma State must rely on offensive rebounds and threes, but UCLA ranks 19th in defensive rebounding and allows just 27% from deep.

That limits second-chance buckets and clean looks, making it tough for OSU to clear its team total.

The Cowgirls also defend well from everywhere. That, and the Bruins’ slow pace, should prevent UCLA from reaching 83 points for the fifth time in seven games.
