With Cameron Boozer operating as a primary facilitator in Duke’s offense and consistently creating looks for teammates, this matchup sets up as a strong opportunity for him to clear his assist line against St. John’s.

Cameron Boozer and his shorthanded No. 1 seed Duke Blue Devils persevered through the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, setting the stage for a Sweet 16 matchup with the No. 5 seed St. John’s Red Storm.

This heavyweight matchup between the ACC Champ and the Big East Champ goes down in Washington, D.C., at 7:10 pm ET and will be broadcast on CBS.

See why my March Madness picks and Duke vs. St. John’s predictions are targeting the star big man’s assist prop on Friday, March 27.

Cameron Boozer best bet vs St. John's: Over 4.5 assists (+120)

Duke will likely still be without starting point guard Caleb Foster for the Sweet 16. Fill-in Cayden Boozer struggles with ball pressure — which St. John’s brings consistently and relentlessly — meaning the offensive generation will fall on Cameron Boozer’s shoulders more than ever.

Call him Atlas — he leads the team in assist rate (26%) and will have increased facilitating opportunities in a pace-up spot against a Red Storm team ranking 69th in adjusted tempo

Boozer is averaging five assists over his last seven games and is expected to have an average day given the bump in volume due to his usage rate and pace.

Who will Boozer be dishing to? Why not Isaiah Evans, who leads the team with 2.7 made threes per game and is second behind only Boozer in usage rate (25.1%).

The breakout sophomore is never shy to let it fly, attempting at least eight triples in seven of his last eight games. He’s in a shooting slump, going 4-for-16 (25%) in the Big Dance, but that’s helping create value in which there’s more plus money (+150) being offered on his Over than should be the case for a sniper of his acumen with a locked-in high-usage role.

St. John’s lays bricks, ranking 257th in effective field goal percentage over the last month, creating plenty of rebounding opportunities for Boozer, who has snared 10+ rebounds in five of his last six contests.
