Warriors computer picks
Steph Curry Over 5.5 assists (+115)
Projection: 5.54 assists
Steph Curry's 3-point daggers get all the attention, but he's a phenomenal (and phenomenally willing) passer with a knack for setting his teammates up for success.
The 11-time All-Star has tallied 6.4 assists per game on the road since the start of last season, putting him in the 96th percentile of all players.
That's elite stuff, and Chef Curry should continue to cook tonight with an improved supporting cast, including veteran big man Al Horford.
Draymond Green Over 5.5 rebounds (-110)
Projection: 6.23 rebounds
There are few things that get Draymond Green more fired up than facing the Lakers, against whom he's posted some of his gaudiest stats over the years. The league's most notorious crotch kicker has averaged 6.6 rebounds in 42 games against the Purple and Gold and is coming off a season in which he posted 6.1 boards per contest.
It's worth noting the Lakers were the league's fifth-worst rebounding team a year ago, and still project as a below-average club even with the addition of Deandre Ayton. Expect Green to crash the glass with gusto tonight.
Draymond Green Over 8.5 points (-130)
Projection: 8.76 points
Green looked solid in his final preseason tune-up on October 17, scoring a coolly efficient nine points in just 22 minutes of action. He'll likely play closer to his customary 30 minutes tonight, allowing him to approach double figures in a game in which the Warriors will lean on his across-the-board stat stuffing.
Lakers computer picks
Austin Reaves Over 2.5 threes (-165)
Projection: 2.69 threes
Someone is going to have to pick up the scoring slack with LeBron James sidelined, and Reaves is more than up to the task. The undrafted 27-year-old has increased his scoring average in each of the last four seasons and has the greenest of lights in JJ Redick's offense.
Reaves made 2.7 threes per game a year ago, and should surpass that total this evening as the Lakers' undisputed No. 2 option.
Gabe Vincent Over 6.5 points (-110)
Projection: 7.05 points
Vincent was a revelation in the preseason, leading the Lakers in scoring in two games. The Modesto native averaged 16.3 points per game across four contests and, more importantly, was lights out from beyond the arc, nailing 56% of his 3-point attempts. Expect him to log 20-25 minutes tonight and to easily surpass his points projection.
Deandre Ayton Over 13.5 points (-118)
Projection: 14.26 points
Ayton was brought on board primarily to protect the rim and clean up misses, but the former first overall pick is also a very capable scorer. Ayton has averaged 16.4 points per game in his first seven years in the league and will benefit greatly from playing alongside Luka Doncic. His ability to deliver pinpoint lobs should result in some of the easiest buckets of Ayton's career.
