The Minnesota Timberwolves are being tested this month, with injuries hampering their chances of grabbing the No.1 seed in the West — but they’re favorites in the latest NBA odds as they visit the Utah Jazz tonight.
The Wolves are 3-4 so far in March while navigating Karl-Anthony Towns’ knee injury, but they rallied for a 118-100 win over the Clippers on Tuesday thanks to a 37-point masterpiece from Anthony Edwards.
Meanwhile, this season has fizzled out for the Jazz, who had lost three in a row before edging past Atlanta last night. Keyonte George and Collin Sexton combined for 46 points as Utah won its 20th home game of the year.

All year, Anthony Edwards has looked ready to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves on a deep playoff run, but he’s got an even bigger scoring burden to carry with Karl-Anthony Towns expected to be out until mid-April.
Ant has embraced that so far. He’s taken at least 23 shots in his last four outings, including an 18-for-35 effort en route to 44 points against Indiana last week. I see him dominating for a Timberwolves offense that’s suddenly light on bucket-getters.
Even with a slump from beyond the arc in March — just 26% through seven games — Edwards is capable of monster performances, and I’m jumping on the Over for his points prop against a Utah Jazz team that’s on the second night of a back-to-back set.
One look at the Utah rotation confirms that there’s no obvious Edwards stopper on the roster. He should be able to get to his spots with ease, just as he did while scoring 31 points in the teams’ first meeting of the season back in November.
With Rudy Gobert and Kyle Anderson both listed as questionable, this could be a closer battle than the respective records suggest, but I’m picking Ant to be the difference-maker.

With the Jazz continuing to open up time for their youngsters, Keyonte George has become a bigger factor since the trade deadline, cementing himself as a key pillar for the Utah rebuild.
He caught my eye with his scoring against the Hawks last night, but I’m looking at George's playmaking in this matchup and adding the Over on his assists prop for my SGP.
George has recorded six dimes in two of his last three contests, and he finished February with six or more assists in three straight games. I’m predicting another strong stat line at Delta Center, even if fellow guard Jordan Clarkson (questionable) returns from a groin injury. Plus, George’s path to a big playmaking night could be simpler if Minnesota doesn’t have Gobert patrolling the paint.
The Timberwolves’ game plan tonight will seemingly be centered around some Edwards fireworks and their defensive grit. Minnesota is allowing the fewest points per game in the NBA (106.7), and they’ve got the wing defenders to hound the Jazz on the perimeter.
Though the Jazz have hit the Over in five of their last six contests, I see the fresher visitors taking control and turning this into a slugfest.

Timberwolves vs Jazz spread and Over/Under analysis
The sportsbooks currently have visitors favored by 8.5 points heading into tonight's matchup. The Timberwolves have won four of the past five meetings, but they’re 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games and their injury list is growing.
I’m more inclined to take the points with the Jazz, even with the fatigue factor. Though Will Hardy is still trying to patch together reliable combinations from his second unit, his starters have largely held their own — especially with the George/Collin Sexton combo thriving.
Utah has lost seven of its past 10 contests but has covered the spread in four of the last six games.
Even with Towns co-leading the offense for most of the season, the Timberwolves rank in the bottom half of the league with 113.2 ppg, and they’ve had some tough nights since he’s been sidelined.
The visitors managed just 109 points against the Lakers last weekend and 104 points in an overtime loss to Cleveland two days earlier. Those recent struggles — and the fact that the Lauri Markkanen-less Jazz are coming off an intense battle last night — are leading me to look past some of the trends pointing to the Over.
