Suns vs Heat Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

The Suns have turned a corner, suddenly looking like a legitimate threat, especially on defense. This will play a key role in defeating the Heat, who could be down Norman Powell. Even if he does play, he may not be at full strength.

The Phoenix Suns will try to run their latest winning streak to four games as they visit the Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center tonight.

Phoenix is playing well under head coach Jordan Ott, and I’m taking it to cover again in my Suns vs. Heat predictions.

Let’s take a look at how bettors should approach tonight’s matchup in my free NBA picks for Tuesday, January 13.

Suns vs Heat prediction

Suns vs Heat best bet: Suns moneyline (-105)

The Phoenix Suns came into this season with uncertain expectations, and the season began by playing middling basketball with around a .500 record through most of December. But the Suns have gone 9-2 in their last 11, with Devin Booker leading what has become one of the most balanced offensive attacks in the NBA.

Booker (25.3 PPG) leads the way, but Dillon Brooks is among five other players also scoring in double figures this year (not counting Jalen Green, who has missed all but two games due to injury). But the defense has been the star of the show, holding opponents to 100.8 PPG in their last six outings, during which the Suns have gone 5-1.

The Miami Heat are riding a three-game losing streak and have lost four of five. A formerly potent offense has been sputtering as of late, even with the return of Tyler Herro. Norman Powell's health is also a concern, as he’s questionable with back soreness and likely won’t be 100% even if he can play tonight.

I have serious concerns about whether the Heat can score enough against a tough Phoenix defense to keep up with Booker, Brooks, and the rest of the Suns' attack. Phoenix has covered in 12 of its last 13 games, and I’m taking it to win outright as a one-point dog tonight.

Suns vs Heat same-game parlay

The Suns have hit the Under in five straight games, all of which have come in below tonight’s total, while the Heat have done the same in two of their last three outings. Along with the Under, I’ll also throw in a bet on Brooks to score Over 19.5 points, as he’s putting up 21.2 ppg this year and has scored at least 20 points in five of his last eight contests.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
