Naz Reid had a very efficient Game 1 with 15 points in 24 minutes, including three makes from 3-point range. His player projections for tonight all sit north of 10.5, ranging from 11.4 to a ceiling of 16 points. My number comes out to 12 points from the Minnesota Timberwolves’ sixth man. His production was up-and-down against Denver’s big frontcourt but he’s going up against a smaller Dallas Mavericks frontcourt, giving him some mismatches.
Luka Doncic will touch the ball on every possession, which is always a nice thing when betting assist props. Minnesota’s defense will try to take the ball out of his hands, which means ample opportunities to set up his teammates. He had eight assists in Game 1 with 13 potential assists in that series opener. Player models call sit north of 8.5 dimes with a ceiling of 10-plus assists. My number comes out to 9.2 assists from Luka and some sharper books are dealing the Over 8.5 as high as -121 this morning.
P.J. Washington grabbed seven rebounds in Game 1 with 13 potential rebound chances. That’s pretty good considering he’s undersized against a towering T-Wolves lineup. He’s hauled in six or more boards in six of the last seven games and player forecasts range from 5.6 rebounds to a high of 7.2. My projections sits just shy of 6.5 boards in Game 2 tonight. The Over 5.5 is out there as pricy as -157 at sharper shops, so we could see a move to 6.5.
