The Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks have already faced off three times this season, with the Raptors taking all three.

That includes Toronto winning a 134-117 shootout just back on Saturday night in the Six. Now these teams will do battle for the second straight game at Scotiabank Arena.

Can Atlanta finally beat Toronto, or will the Raps continue their dominance in this matchup? My Hawks vs. Raptors predictions bring you the NBA picks you need to make for the Eastern Conference clash on Monday, January 5.

Hawks vs Raptors prediction

Hawks vs Raptors best bet: Raptors -2.5 (-110)

RJ Barrett has returned and, shocker, he has helped stabilize what had become an inconsistent Toronto Raptors team. The Raps are 3-1 since Barrett’s been back, and now they get to take on an Atlanta Hawks team that they’ve owned this season, going 3-0 straight up and against the spread.

The biggest difference between these teams is on the defensive end of the floor. The Raptors are fourth in defensive rating, while the Hawks rank 17th.

In the three previous meetings, Toronto has held Atlanta to 41.3% from the field and 32.3% from 3-point range.

And with Barrett back, the Raptors not only have more depth, but more versatility to defend, particularly against a Hawks team that doesn’t have a huge interior presence.

The Raptors defense will roar, and we’ll ride that as they cover this 2.5-point spread.

Hawks vs Raptors same-game parlay

Atlanta has the fourth-worst rebounding rate and allows the fifth-most opponent rebounds per game.

The Raptors rebound well as a team, as everybody goes to the glass, including Brandon Ingram. Ingram averages 6.0 rebounds per game this season, but has gone for nine, eight, and nine in his last three games, pulling down nine boards in two of the three matchups vs. the Hawks this season.

The Hawks lack size, and even their bigs like Kristaps Porzingis aren't the most physically imposing of dudes. With this matchup against KP, it should mean more of a run for Raptors backup center Sandro Mamukelashvili.

Mamukelashvili’s floor time is matchup dependent, but he has gone Over this number in seven of his last nine games, and in the last two matchups against the Hawks.
