If the New York Knicks don’t start tightening up defensively, it’s going to catch up with them. For now, they should still hold an edge against a Memphis Grizzlies team that has struggled to find any consistency this season.
When your franchise player is off, the entire team feels it. Ja Morant hasn’t looked like himself, averaging 19.2 points per game while shooting just 35.8% from the field and 14.8% (8-for-54) from deep.

However, the Knicks defense hasn’t discouraged shooters. New York is giving up 39.5% from three - the fourth-worst rate in the league - and opponents have shot 40.6% from deep over the last five games. That could be exactly what Morant and the Grizzlies need to find some rhythm.
Offensively, the Knicks remain reliable, hitting 38.3% from beyond the arc, the seventh-best clip in the NBA.
With New York continuing to score efficiently at home and Memphis likely finding opportunities against this vulnerable defense, the Over is the play with both sides expected to put up points.
