The Knicks haven't had much success containing quality point guards this season and with Ja Morant in town, all signs point to another impressive performance for the young superstar at Madison Square Garden.

The New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies are squaring off for the second time this season after an exciting 115-112 overtime victory for Memphis in the season opener.

When it comes to Madison Square Garden, there's always a potential special performance waiting, and that won't be any different tonight as Ja Morant will look to put on a show in front of the New York crowd. Look for the speedy point guard to look for his shot early and often if Memphis wishes to cover the spread.

Grizzlies vs Knicks picks and predictions

The Ja Morant show stops at Madison Square Garden tonight as the Memphis Grizzlies are looking for their second win in a row and the series sweep of New York this season. Anytime a player of Morant's talent level comes to Madison Square Garden only once during the season, he's likely in for a big night.

During the season opener in Memphis, Morant led the Grizzlies to victory with an explosive 34-point outing. He was slashing through the paint and scoring easily while connecting on 3-pointers.

The 23-year-old superstar guard did this with a healthy Mitchell Robinson in the lineup. While Robinson will be playing today, he's not in game shape right now, as he's playing catch up from the missed time due to injury. Who will contest Morant and make him think twice about attacking the rim?

Another factor is the absence of Desmond Bane. The excellent guard shot the ball 22 times in the first matchup between the two teams, and without him in the lineup, Morant figures to take on more of the scoring pressure. Possibly the best point guard in the game today, Morant is currently averaging 28.6 points per game.

On the season, New York is surrendering 25.8 points per game to opposing point guards, which ranks ninth in the NBA. Considering those stats, Morant figures to be in a good spot tonight where he can fill up the box score.

Look at the Knicks' last game against the Portland Trail Blazers. With the absence of Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons torched the Knicks for 38 points. Just imagine what Morant will do tonight.

My best bet: Ja Morant Over 29.5 points (-113)

Grizzlies vs Knicks spread analysis

Memphis enters Madison Square Garden as a 2.5-point favorite. While only two wins separate the two squads, the Knicks have yet to beat a team that is considered amongst the league's best all season. That doesn't figure to change tonight, as Morant will look to put on a show for the MSG crowd.

The season opener against Memphis ended in an ATS win for the Knicks, as they kept it close in an overtime matchup. That same luck likely won't come to fruition tonight, as Memphis is coming off one of its most impressive wins of the season, shellacking the Pelicans by 21 points. New York enters this one 8-10-1 ATS while having a mostly healthy team for much of the season.

The Knicks have had a hard time with elite point guard play all season, which was on full display in their last four games against Portland, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, and Golden State. Tonight should be the same, as Morant is too fast and explosive to contain. I like Memphis to cover.

Grizzlies vs Knicks Over/Under analysis

Both the Knicks and Grizzlies enter tonight with a 9-10 Over/Under record on the season. That mediocrity will likely be the reality for both teams, as neither is playing particularly great basketball. Memphis could get back to its elite-level defense with time, as it has dealt with numerous injuries in the season's early goings.

Memphis has gone Over in three of its last four games. The recent Over streak is partly due to the Grizz scoring the ball in bunches, amassing over 120 points in two of those games. However, defensively, they've held an opponent under 100 points just once in the last 10 games.

The last game between these two teams hit the Over easily, as both teams found little issue getting to their spots and scoring in bunches. Since then, Brunson has grown into his position as the best player on the Knicks. The 15 points he scored in the opener will likely exceed 20 or 30 points tonight.

Morant will want to put on a show, and the Knicks won't back down on their home court. The Over is a strong consideration here.
