Cavaliers vs Spurs Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

When the Cavaliers last thumped the Spurs, Victor Wembanyama wasn't in the lineup. Tonight, he will be on the floor, and the home team will come away with the win and cover.

The San Antonio Spurs can exact some revenge for an early December beatdown when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight.

The Spurs were shorthanded in their earlier meeting, and my Cavaliers vs. Spurs predictions expect San Antonio to cover as short favorites.

Read on for my NBA picks for Monday, December 29.

Cavaliers vs Spurs prediction

Cavaliers vs Spurs best bet: Spurs -3.5 (-110)

This Cleveland Cavaliers team has become a certified bankroll killer: a middle-of-the-pack squad still being priced like the juggernaut that opened last season 15–0.

Now they walk into a buzzsaw against a San Antonio Spurs group they embarrassed in Cleveland back in December, a game played without Victor Wembanyama.

That context matters.

The Spurs are 23–8 and sitting second in the West, and unlike the December 5 meeting, Wembanyama will be on the floor tonight.

His presence alone flips the matchup defensively, erasing the rim and paint scoring that Cleveland relied on in that blowout.

Evan Mobley hasn’t played 30+ minutes since his Christmas Day return.

Without Mobley’s full-time help, the Cavs’ 22nd-ranked perimeter defense is ill-equipped to contain Wembanyama and a fired-up De'Aaron Fox, whose speed opens everything else.

Cleveland is the worst team in the NBA against the spread, while San Antonio has been reliable (9–4 ATS) at home.

Cavaliers vs Spurs same-game parlay

Stephon Castle has scored at least 19 points in three straight games. The Cavs' backcourt defense is mediocre, and the versatile scorer can score at least 19 points in multiple ways.

Wembanyama averages a double-double. He’s recorded a double-double in three of his previous five with a solid chance to do this again tonight, and especially if Mobley is limited.

Cavaliers vs Spurs SGP

  • Spurs -3.5
  • Stephon Castle Over 18.5 points
  • Victor Wembanyama double-double

Our "from downtown" SGP: King of the Castle

Castle is landing only 28% of his nearly five attempts from downtown. He’s coming off a 1-for-8 stinker against Utah, but he can make at least two tonight, as Cleveland allows a 28th-best 38% from downtown.

Seven of the past 10 H2H meetings have gone Over the total. Cleveland likes to work fast, and San Antonio should also push the pace enough.

Cavaliers vs Spurs SGP

  • Spurs -3.5
  • Stephon Castle Over 18.5 points
  • Victor Wembanyama double-double
  • Stephon Castle Over 1.5 threes
  • Over 241.5

Cavaliers vs Spurs odds

  • Spread: Cavaliers +3 (-110) | Spurs -3 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Cavaliers +130 | Spurs -155
  • Over/Under: Over 241.5 (-110) | Under 241.5 (-110)
