When will the Milwaukee Bucks turn things around? No time soon as long as their perimeter defense is as lackluster as it has been.

The Chicago Bulls might not be good enough as a team to exploit that all night long, but at least one particular player should be well-suited for the task.

My Bulls vs. Bucks predictions may not have the courage needed to pick Chicago outright, but these free NBA picks do see value in Coby White making Milwaukee sweat from deep on Wednesday, November 20.

Bulls vs Bucks prediction

My best bet
Coby White Over 3.5 made 3-pointers (+110 at bet365)

My analysis
The Milwaukee Bucks have many problems, but none are worse than their 3-point defense.

The Bucks fail to defend the arc. Milwaukee ranks No. 20 in 3-point rate with opponents taking 43.1% of their field goals from deep, and No. 24 in opponents’ 3-point percentage, with foes hitting 37.3% of their long-range takes.

That is simply not sustainable. Either give up few looks or do not give up open looks. The Bucks are failing in both regards.

Both regards will matter tonight. The Chicago Bulls rank No. 3 in 3-point attempts per game, taking 42.5 per game. They make 37.7% of them, No. 10 in the NBA. It is this ability that has Chicago off to a modest 6-9 start despite the long-term absence of Lonzo Ball.

In fact, Ball’s absence is probably elevating the Bulls’ shooting. Coby White leads Chicago by chucking nine 3-pointers per game, making 40% of them, the third-highest rate on the team.

No one in the Bulls’ rotation is better suited to exploit the Bucks’ greatest defensive weakness than White is, especially given he has cleared this prop in nine of 15 games this season.

To get a plus-money prop on someone already likely to clear the prop is plenty of value on its own. To get it on a night when the matchup should only further his cause, and that is an unexpected delight.

Bulls vs Bucks same-game parlay

Coby White Over 3.5 made threes

Coby White Over 20.5 points

Josh Giddey Over 5.5 assists

This should not need much explanation. If White hits four 3-pointers, he will not need much more work to reach 21 points, certainly not when he is taking 3.6 free throws per game. That combination alone should set him up with a floor of 15 points tonight.

Adding Josh Giddey’s assists prop makes sense as the Bulls’ best playmaker in Ball’s absence. Giddey is averaging 6.6 assists, in no small part because Chicago is hitting so many 3-pointers. If that is expected to continue tonight at an even greater pace, then Giddey’s assists should rack up.

Bulls vs Bucks spread and Over/Under analysis

  • This spread hit the market with Milwaukee favored by eight late on Tuesday, then toggled between -8 and -8.5 well into Wednesday afternoon.
  • The total opened at 237.5 and fell momentarily overnight, reaching 236 in Tuesday’s latest hours before beginning to climb. By the time the East Coast showed up at work, this total had reached 239.
  • Consider that total movement to be further endorsement of the dichotomy of Chicago’s perimeter-shooting strength against Milwaukee’s perimeter-defense weakness.

Bulls vs Bucks trend

The Bucks are 2-3-1 against the spread when favored by three scores this season, the push coming in overtime, so there is an easy argument to be made the truer record is 2-4. Find more NBA betting trends for Bulls vs. Bucks.

The joke around the Notre Dame press box each home game is to ask Douglas what the spread is on all other games across the country, knowing he spends as much time (if not more) with an eye on the national landscape as he does on the Irish. While the other beat writers may be joking, those answers directly influence what games are on the press box TVs up until Notre Dame's kickoff.
