After a wild home win Thursday night, the Philadelphia 76ers are back in action tonight, heading to Milwaukee to face the Giannis-less Bucks.
Looking for their third straight victory, the Sixers are slight 1.5-point road favorites on Friday, December 5.
My 76ers vs. Bucks predictions and NBA picks have Philadelphia picking up the win despite playing on consecutive nights.
76ers vs Bucks prediction
76ers vs Bucks best bet: 76ers +1 (-110)
Tyrese Maxey was supposed to be the complementary piece alongside Joel Embiid and Paul George. Now? He's the entire band.
Maxey was at it again Thursday, ripping Golden State for 35 points in a 99-98 win. It's the third game in a row Maxey has gone for 35+, and he hasn't scored less than 20 points in a game this season.
He ranks third in the NBA in scoring at 32.5 points per game, while doling out 7.5 dimes per, which is seventh-best in the league.
Meanwhile, Embiid and George have combined to play 14 total games so far this season, and George (knee) is likely out again, as is Kelly Oubre (knee). Embiid, who did play his eighth game of the year against the Warriors, is also most likely to sit out the back-to-back.
That won't matter much as the Philadelphia 76ers meet the Milwaukee Bucks for the second time this year, after outlasting them 123-114 in overtime on Nov 20.
It will be the second straight time Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss against Philly, as he's dealing with a calf injury that will sideline him 4-6 weeks, suffered last game in Milwaukee's 113-109 win over the East-leading Pistons.
This, of course, has nothing to do with news that Giannis met with Bucks' brass about the possibility of getting traded the day before getting shelved.
Milwaukee hasn't fared well without Antetokounmpo, going just 1-5 on the season — which makes sense, as it's hard to replace 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists.
You'd think the Bucks would fare better as Philly is playing the second night of a back-to-back, but the Sixers are the NBA's best in that scenario, carving out a 4-0-0 record against the spread.
Expect more of the same on Friday.

Let's focus on the point guards to build this SGP.
We've already talked about Maxey's scoring prowess of late, but his career best and season-high this year came against the Bucks, when he lit them on fire for 54 points on 18-for-30 shooting.
Someone needs to score for Milwaukee, and Kevin Porter Jr has come off the injured list at just the right time. He's played just four games but has led the team in scoring in the last two, going for 26 last time out against the Pistons.

Our "from downtown" SGP: Edgy!
VJ Edgecomb has cooled off after such a blistering start to his NBA career, but he's been a nice running mate with Maxey. He's shooting a respectable 36% from downtown and has made at least two triples in five of his last eight games.
Myles Turner has had exactly three rebounds in four straight games, but with Giannis out, there are plenty of boards to be had. He had 10 rebounds in this exact scenario the last time they played the Sixers.
