The NASCAR Cup Series heads up north to "The Wolverine State" for the Firekeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, June 8.
Tyler Reddick is the reigning champ, as he ended a run of nine straight wins by Ford at this course. But Ryan Blaney's "blue oval" paid a trip to Victory Lane last week in Nashville.

Firekeepers Casino 400 field
All the usual suspects will be at Michigan for the Firekeepers Casino 400, with the 36 chartered drivers making their way up north. Kyle Larson is the pre-qualifying favorite most weeks and that's holding true here, as he's sitting at +550 over Denny Hamlin (+650).
Last week's winner, Ryan Blaney, is also a popular choice at +750. But Nashville runner-up Carson Hocevar has made the most eye-catching move week-over-week on the odds board, going from a typical line of +5000 to +2000.

Firekeepers Casino 400 pre-qualifying favorites
Kyle Larson (+550)
A three-time Michigan winner, Kyle Larson has finished third, third, seventh, fifth, and 34th in his last six starts in the Irish Hills. He led 70 laps in a third-place finish in 2021 and while he crashed last year, he led three times for 41 laps after qualifying fourth.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver has five Top-8 finishes in the last six weeks, including two wins.
Ryan Blaney (+750)
Ryan Blaney has seven Top-10 finishes in his last 10 Michigan starts, including a 2021 victory. He finished fifth, ninth, and 18th, respectively, in this Next Gen car.
Last year, he led 16 laps and won the first stage. Blaney enters having won the last race at Nashville Superspeedway, his third Top-3 finish in four weeks and fifth Top-5 finish in the last seven races overall.
Joey Logano (+1400)
Joey Logano has six Top-10 finishes in his last 10 Michigan tries, including a win in 2019, a fifth in 2020, and a fourth in 2022. Logano fits the Ford billing for a winner with three Top-10 finishes in the last four races on the season.
Firekeepers Casino 400 sleepers
Chris Buescher (+2400)
He led 52 laps in his 2023 win and finished sixth last year. The only problem is, Chris Buescher hasn’t scored a Top-5 finish in the last 10 races on the season with only three Top-10 results in that span.
Brad Keselowski (+2800)
Brad Keselowski is 0-for-27 as a driver at Michigan but led 15 laps in a fourth-place finish in 2023 and finished fifth after leading two laps and coming home seventh and sixth in the pair of stages.
He’s finished runner-up three times and has four Top-10 finishes in his last six tries.
Bubba Wallace (+2800)
Bubba Wallace was runner-up in 2022 after leading 22 laps. He led 21 laps in 2023’s 18th place finish after coming home second and fourth, respectively, in the pair of stages.
Wallace finished fourth in Stage 1 last year and led five laps but finished 26th after qualifying fifth.
Ty Gibbs (+4500)
Ty Gibbs was 10th as a rookie in 2022, 11th in 2023, and third last year. He’s led laps in all three races. However, he’s also finished 17th or worse in each of the last five weeks.
Firekeepers Casino 400 fades
Christopher Bell (+850)
Not a good start at Michigan for Christopher Bell. He’s been 13th, 17th, 13th, 26th, 13th, and 35th, respectively. He’s a fade despite seven Top-10 finishes in the last eight races on the season.
William Byron (+900)
William Byron was runner-up in 2021 and 2023, but 12th and 35th between. In 10 starts, he has three Top-10 finishes. While he has five Top-6 finishes the last six races, he’s a fade.
Tyler Reddick (+1000)
I’m wary of last year’s Top-2 finishers. Tyler Reddick won after qualifying second. However, his previous MIS results were 18th, 24th, 29th, 29th, and 30th, respectively.
Reddick has one Top-5 finish in the last 11 races, a fourth-place effort at Darlington in April.
Chase Elliott (+1200)
Chase Elliott is a great fantasy play with 10 Top-10 finishes in 14 Michigan starts, but after three straight runner-ups to start his Cup career at Michigan, he’s not had a Top-5 since. He was 11th in 2022, 36th in 2023, and 15th last year in a race that he led 29 laps and finished second in Stage 1. Elliott has one Top-5 finish the last seven races, too.
Firekeepers Casino 400 prop pick: Denny Hamlin Top-3 Finish
Denny Hamlin has eight consecutive Top-10 finishes at Michigan, including results of second, sixth, second, fifth, third, third and ninth, respectively, in the last seven races there.
Pick: Denny Hamlin Top-3 Finish (+160 at DraftKings)

Michigan International Speedway track analysis
Not much has changed at Michigan between last year and this one, including the car and racing package that they’ll show up with, which is why my eyes are peeled to Ford this weekend. This could be their race to lose.
Toyota won its first race at Michigan since 2015 last year and only its second MIS victory in 22 tries. Ford’s best finisher was fifth as their nine-race win streak was halted. However, being nine for their last 10 with five different drivers make me believe they can rebound this weekend.
Firekeepers Casino 400 trends
- Seven of the last nine Michigan winners have come from the Top-4 starting spots.
- Hendrick Motorsports hasn’t won a race at Michigan since 2014.
