Will Warren has not pitched well as of late, allowing 15 runs over his last 25 innings of work (5.4 ERA).

My Yankees vs. Orioles predictions see him running into more problems on the road, with Gunnar Henderson set to be a prime beneficiary.

Let’s break it down with my September 19 MLB picks.

Yankees vs Orioles prediction

Yankees vs Orioles best bet: Gunnar Henderson Over 0.5 RBI (+165)

It hasn’t been a good season for the Baltimore Orioles but that hasn’t stopped Gunnar Henderson from putting together a productive campaign. He leads the team in extra base hits, total bases, and runs batted in by healthy margins.

He has a good opportunity to build on those numbers Friday night. Will Warren has allowed 15 runs and 29 hits over his last five starts despite averaging exactly five innings along the way.

It’s not as if those totals are a byproduct of pitching deep into games and opponents having extra at bats to accumulate numbers. He is simply struggling.

I don’t see that changing against Gunnar Henderson. Warren has struggled mightily to get outs vs. left-handed bats while Henderson is hitting nearly .300 against righties.

Warren throws a ton of fastballs, accounting for close to 50% of what he throws. No other pitch is used even 20% of the time.

He consistently tries to attack batters with the fastball, which is not a recipe for success against Henderson. He’s hitting .308 with a .200 ISO against fastballs this year.

If the Orioles can get some runners on against a struggling Warren, Henderson has a good chance of bringing them home.

Yankees vs Orioles same-game parlay (SGP)

Jackson Holliday is another guy who should benefit from Warren’s struggles against left-handed hitters. He has 11 hits over his last 10 games and is 2-5 against Warren.

Hitting atop the order, he will see as much of Warren as anybody and should be able to set the table for Henderson.

Aaron Judge finished hitless in the series opener. Even against Trevor Rogers, I’d be surprised if that was the case again.

Judge possesses almost unmatched power against the fastball and – similarly to Warren – that is by far Rogers’ most used pitch.

Yankees vs Orioles SGP

  • Gunnar Henderson Over 0.5 RBI
  • Jackson Holliday Over 0.5 hits
  • Aaron Judge Over 1.5 total bases
