The New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves will get the second of a three-game set going tonight as the Bronx Bombers look to rebound.

The Yankees have been mired in a funk, losing their last three by a combined 11 runs. Today, we expect them to remedy that with a shaky opposing pitcher on the mound

My Braves vs. Yankees predictions break it down here as I bring you my MLB picks when the two teams meet Saturday, July 19th.

Yankees vs Braves prediction

My Yankees vs Braves best bet:  Yankees ML (-125 at DraftKings)

You couldn't ask for a much better matchup than Atlanta Braves left-hander Joey Wentz for the New York Yankees today. Consequently, we're making the Yankees moneyline my fourth two-unit play of the season and today's best bet.

The 27-year-old presents with numerous issues. The bloated ERA is justified, even though an expected ERA nearly a run lower suggests he's due for some positive regression. Much of that has to do with his barrel rate — it sits in the bottom 14th percentile of the league, and his hard-hit rate is even worse.

Even a struggling Yankees team is well-positioned to take advantage of this.

The thing that's been synonymous with this group over the last four years or so is power — living up to their "Bomber" moniker. With that comes a strong barrel rate. New York enters this game leading the majors in that metric at just over 11%.

Even though Wentz will likely only see two or three innings of work, it should be enough time for this Yankees team to exploit his issues and build a multi-run lead. Adding to my confidence is Will Warren on the mound.

We've faded the right-hander a few times this season, but against the Braves, he should be an ideal antidote. His strikeout-heavy approach (80th percentile in the majors) presents a tough matchup for Atlanta.

They come into this game averaging just over eight strikeouts per game — a number that has climbed especially lately.

Yankees vs Braves same-game parlay (SGP)

Yankees moneyline

Will Warren o6.5 strikeouts

We hit the alternate strikeout market for this same-game parlay. I saw a roughly 8% edge on this number, with over 6.5 strikeouts for Will Warren.

As mentioned previously, the Braves have whiffed more than usual lately and will see a strikeout thrower on the mound today. However, what makes this prop especially attractive is Warren's sinker.

It's producing a whiff rate of roughly 39% and several Brave players in the lineup struggle against breaking pitches.
