The Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox will begin a three-game set tonight at Target Field that runs through the weekend.

Alex Bregman leads Boston in RBI, and I’ll explain why he could drive in another run in my Twins vs. Red Sox predictions.

Keep reading for my MLB picks for Friday, May 2.

Twins vs Red Sox prediction

My Twins vs Red Sox best bet: Alex Bregman Over 0.5 RBI (+155 at Bet365)

Alex Bregman has been the perfect addition to this Boston Red Sox lineup. The veteran is batting .326 with seven home runs and 26 RBI already, fully living up to the expectations that came along with being their marquee free agent signing this past winter.

The two-time All-Star leads Boston in numerous categories, and he’s driving in runners on a very consistent basis. Bregman has cashed the Over in RBI in four of his last five games. He had two RBI in the series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday.

The third baseman has also had tons of success against the Twins’ starter tonight, Joe Ryan. He’s 6 for 13 lifetime with three doubles, a homer, and four RBI. 12 of his RBI have come on the road as well.

Bregman will play his part in helping the Red Sox score some runs in the series opener at Target Field.

Twins vs Red Sox same-game parlay (SGP)

Alex Bregman Over 0.5 RBI

Jarren Duran Over 1.5 hits

Joe Ryan Over 6.5 strikeouts

Duran is also having a solid campaign for the Red Sox. He’s hitting .279 in 32 contests with 39 hits. He’s cashed the Over in hits in three of his previous five appearances and went 2 for 4 against the Jays two days ago. Duran even had a three-hit and a four-hit game before that against the Cleveland Guardians.

Duran is 2 for 9 lifetime against Ryan, and he’s enjoying a five-game hitting streak at the moment. The outfielder also slashed .304 in six meetings with Minnesota in ‘24. This pick is worth a look because Duran is swinging the bat with a ton of confidence lately.

As for the Twins, Ryan has thrown the baseball well. He’s 2-2 with a 3.18 ERA. My focus here will be on his strikeouts. Ryan has compiled 39 Ks in just 34 innings of work. The righty has cashed the Over in strikeouts in two of his previous three starts, racking up 11 Ks against the Los Angeles Angels and then eight versus the New York Mets, a very good offensive team.

Against this current Boston lineup, Ryan has 14 strikeouts in 60 at-bats. The Red Sox are also striking out more than any other team in the Majors except for the lowly Colorado Rockies. This is a prime opportunity for Ryan to miss a handful of bats tonight, at the very least.
