The Kansas City Royals visit the Texas Rangers tonight for the beginning of a three-game set at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX.

My Royals vs. Rangers predictions explain why I believe Seth Lugo will have another solid outing as he continues to throw the ball well this month.

Royals vs Rangers prediction

My Royals vs Rangers best bet: Seth Lugo Under 2.5 earned runs allowed (-105 at BetMGM)

While Seth Lugo did miss a short period this season due to injury, he’s been consistent when available for the Kansas City Royals. The right-hander is 3-5 with a 3.18 ERA in 12 starts, striking out 52 in 70 2/3 innings while issuing 22 free passes.

Lugo has enjoyed back-to-back quality outings, cashing the Under in earned runs allowed in both. He surrendered just two earned runs to the White Sox before tossing 5 2/3 scoreless frames against the powerful Yankees last Thursday. That was easily one of the best starts of the campaign for him.

The veteran hasn’t faced the Texas Rangers since 2023, and that was only one inning of relief work. In fact, Corey Seager, Jake Burger, and Kyle Higashioka are the only hitters in the Texas lineup who have faced Lugo before, going 0-for-9 combined.

While that’s a small sample size, I’m focusing more on how impressive Lugo is at the moment. His ERA sits below 3.00 in night games, and the Rangers are 26th in runs scored, 25th in hits, and 26th in team average.

Texas continues to struggle offensively, so Lugo should carve them up at Globe Life Field.

Royals vs Rangers same-game parlay (SGP)

Seth Lugo Under 2.5 earned runs allowed

Jack Leiter Under 2.5 earned runs allowed

Vinnie Pasquantino Over 0.5 hits

I’m predicting a pitcher’s duel here with two lackluster offenses.

Jack Leiter has a 4-3 record and 3.88 ERA, cashing the Under in earned runs allowed in three of his last four appearances. Kansas City is in a serious rut as well, losing six in a row. They just got swept by the Athletics, scoring a mere six runs across a three-game set.

Even though the Royals aren’t playing their best, Vinnie Pasquantino has been dong his part offensively all year. He’s hitting .275 with 10 home runs and 39 RBI so far. He was 2-for-4 in the finale against the Athletics on Sunday.

In fact, Pasquantino has cashed the Over in hits in nine of his last 11 contests and is hitting .373 in June.
