It’s another full weekend of Major League Baseball action, and we’re into the third full month of the season. We’re starting to get a much better sample size of what’s good, and what MLB odds to avoid from teams and players.

For Saturday’s crop of player props, we have some solid values as long as the weather doesn’t rear its ugly head and spoil things. It’s always a good idea to either check the weather before finalizing your props, or limit your game choices to indoor facilities or those with retractable roofs, guaranteeing games won’t be interrupted.

Join us as we take a spin around the majors with our best MLB player prop picks for Saturday, June 3.

MLB props for June 3

  • Semien Over 1.5 total bases

Logan gets lucky

The southpaw Allen is a strong play to cash the Over 4.5 Strikeouts. He’s coming off an impressive seven scoreless innings last time out in Baltimore on Monday, allowing just three hits and two walks. More importantly, the rookie struck out a career-best 10 batters in the quality start, his second in as many outings.

Allen has posted five or more strikeouts in five of his seven starts this season. So that’s a slam-dunk play, right? Well, Allen did strike out just three Minnesota batters in his first start against the Twins at Progressive Field on May 6, allowing two runs and seven hits across 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision.

However, the reason Allen is a good play is because no team strikes out more than the Twins. They lead the majors with 589 whiffs across 58 games; more than 10 strikeouts per game. Allen might not have had the home fans posting K signs at a feverish pace, but he is more comfortable deeper into the season, and he’ll punch out at least five Twins batters Saturday evening at Target Field.

Logan Allen prop: Over 4.5 strikeouts (-120 at FanDuel)

Hitting the Marcus

The 32-year-old Semien ran his hitting streak to 22 games in Friday’s 2-0 victory against the Seattle Mariners. The last time the veteran failed to collect a hit was back on May 9, also in Seattle. He wrapped up the month of May with three doubles in his final four games. Extra-base hits aren’t really his thing, but to cash the total bases prop, two singles will also get the job done.

Semien has collected exactly one hit in each of his past five outings. However, he has 18 multi-hit performances this season, and he has two or more hits in five games during his impressive streak.

He’ll be up against RHP Bryan Woo, the prospect making his major league debut in place of the injured LHP Marco Gonzales. Semien is hitting .293 with 10 doubles, a triple, and eight homers with an .512 SLG and .869 OPS against right-handed starting pitchers. He’s in a good position to not only extend his hitting streak, but he should be able to give the rookie a rude welcome to the bigs.

Marcus Semien prop: Over 1.5 total bases (-125)

Wade dials long distance

LaMonte Wade Jr. socked a solo home run in Friday’s interleague series opener against the Baltimore Orioles. The left-handed hitter is working on a six-game hitting streak, and the homer snapped a 19-game drought without leaving the yard.

I think Wade’s confidence is back, and he’ll be able to go yard against RHP Kyle Bradish on Saturday, especially with a 9-12 mph wind blowing out to the left-center field power alley at an impressive clip.

Wade has hit five of his homers at home, and seven of his eight home runs have come against right-handed pitchers, too. In fact, he has a .940 OPS at AT&T Park, and a .910 OPS against righties. The possibilities of a homer for a second straight game are there, and it’s worth a roll of the dice for a chance to multiply your initial wager by 5.5x.

LaMonte Wade prop: hit a home run (+560 at FanDuel)
