It’s a full slate of games on the diamond, and I’ve got a trio of MLB player props to cover the action on Tuesday, August 11.

Starters Max Scherzer and Cristopher Sanchez headline the picks, with Jazz Chisholm Jr. rounding out tonight’s card.

Best MLB player props today

  • TEAM Scherzer u5.5 strikeouts (+110)
  • TEAM Sanchez u6.5 strikeouts (-105)
  • TEAM Chisholm Jr. o1.5 hits+runs+RBI (+125)

Our 3 best MLB player props for Tuesday, August 19

Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.

Max Scherzer Under 5.5 strikeouts (+110 at DraftKings)

While the Pittsburgh Pirates are swing-and-miss prone against righties with the eighth-highest strikeout percentage, Toronto Blue Jays veteran Max Scherzer hasn’t been mowing down batters in bunches.

He’s fanned five or fewer in six of his nine starts since returning to action, and his 8.67 K/9 and 24.1 K% hardly jump off the page.

Additionally, Scherzer’s 85.2 zone-contact percentage is a career-high mark, while his overall 78.1 contact percentage is his highest since 2010.

Cristopher Sanchez Under 6.5 strikeouts (-105 at DraftKings)

Philadelphia Phillies starter Cristopher Sanchez hasn’t needed to pile up strikeouts to spin a tidy 1.85 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 2.59 xFIP across his past 11 outings. He fanned six or fewer batters in eight of the 11.

The Seattle Mariners send an above-average lineup to the dish against lefties, too. So, while the Mariners do sport the fourth-highest strikeout percentage against southpaws, I’m anticipating Sanchez continuing to pitch to contact and finish with six strikeouts or fewer tonight.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Over 1.5 hits+runs+RBI (+125 at BetMGM)

Tampa Bay Rays righty Shane Baz has been smacked around by left-handed hitters in the second half while surrendering a massive .470 wOBA and 1.101 OPS across five starts.

This sets up as a great matchup for New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr., and he’s cleared this total in five of his past seven games while piling up eight runs and five RBI despite going just 5-for-23 at the dish.

Of course, Chisholm has also teed off on righties all year with a solid .366 wOBA, .284 ISO, and .857 OPS.
