He's baaackkkk. Jacob deGrom was one of the most dominant pitchers in MLB history from 2018 to 2021. While he's been slowed down by injuries in recent years, he's now healthy and looking like a Cy Young candidate once again.
My MLB picks for today are betting on another strong performance from deGrom. I'm also backing Phillies southpaw Cristopher Sanchez and fading Pirates ace Paul Skenes with my best MLB player props for Tuesday, July 1.

MLB props for July 1
Paul Skenes Over 1.5 walks (-105 at SportsInteraction)
Paul Skenes is one of the best pitchers in the world but he's been struggling with his control. Since the start of May, Skenes has walked at least two batters in seven of 11 starts.
He's averaging 2.8 BB/9 during that span which includes a May 6 clash against the St. Louis Cardinals where he issued four walks.
Skenes is coming off a rare poor outing and will likely bounce back to his usually stellar self. However, that also means he'll likely log plenty of innings which will lead to more walks against a Cards lineup that does a good job of not chasing pitches outside the strike zone.
Jacob deGrom Under 1.5 earned runs (+115 at DraftKings)
Two years removed from Tommy John surgery, Jacob deGrom has recaptured the form that allowed him to dominate hitters from 2018 to 2021. He's allowed fewer than 1.5 earned runs in seven of his last 13 starts, posting a 1.67 ERA with a 0.81 WHIP over that span.
The Baltimore Orioles have been unable to hit on the road where they're 26th in the majors in OPS (.661) and runs per game (3.74). DeGrom's previous start came against the O's last week, when he allowed just one hit across seven innings of shutout ball.
He went three up, three down in the first six innings at Camden Yards which bodes well for him shutting down the O's at home today.
Cristopher Sanchez Under 5.5 hits allowed (+105 at BET99)
Christopher Sanchez has been dealing, pitching to a 2.79 ERA with .229 OBA through 16 starts. The Philadelphia Phillies southpaw has allowed fewer than 5.5 hits in 10 of his last 13 starts.
Today, Sanchez will be at home to face the San Diego Padres. The Padres were 25th in the majors in OPS (.679) in June and have struggled to hit southpaws all year, ranking 22nd in OPS (.657) against lefties.
Sanchez is in the Top 15th percentile in barrel rate and ground ball rate while the Friars have the second-lowest barrel rate and the sixth-highest ground ball rate.
