Padres vs Dodgers best bet: Under 8.5 (-120)
The first two games of the series both resulted in an Under as the San Diego Padres have been slumbering at the plate, managing just two combined runs.
With Tyler Glasnow on the hill, it’s hard to predict a quick return to form for San Diego’s bats.
Glasnow’s issues aren’t about talent but instead health. He’s healthy now and has a 3.08 ERA along with a 91st percentile xBA (.208) and 90th percentile K-rate (29.9%).
On the flip side, Yu Darvish’s 5.61 ERA looks less appealing. He’s been highly unlucky through seven starts, however, as his 3.26 xERA is more palatable. The 39-year-old has strong underlying metrics, limiting hard contact (7.1% barrel rate) en route to a .221 xBA.
San Diego also has a league-best 2.99 ERA in relief. Mason Miller and Robert Suarez have both been used just once in the last five days, so the arm barn is well rested.
