Trevor Rogers has enjoyed a career season for the Baltimore Orioles, posting a 1.35 ERA through 17 starts.

Even on a losing team, he’s found a way to grind out wins, and my Orioles vs. Yankees predictions expect that to be the case again Friday night.

Let’s break down my MLB picks for Friday, September 26.

Orioles vs Yankees prediction

Orioles vs Yankees best bet: Baltimore Orioles (+125)

The Baltimore Orioles may not have much riding on their final stretch of games, but that hasn’t stopped them from playing competitive baseball.

They have won six of their past 10 games and will now send one of the league’s most productive arms to the mound in Trevor Rogers.

He has pitched magnificently this season, owning a 9-2 record with a 1.35 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. A big part of his success has come from limiting the long ball; he’s allowed only three homers in 106.2 innings of work.

That should serve him well heading into a matchup against the New York Yankees, who lead the majors in homers.

Rogers has only seen the Yankees once this season. That came in his most recent start, and he gave up just one hit over six innings of shutout ball.

I don’t know that he’ll blank the Yankees again, but there’s every reason to believe he can limit this offense from a ceiling performance.

If that’s the case, the Orioles will have a real chance to win. Will Warren has given up plenty of hits of late and struggles vs. left-handed hitters. That’s notable as several of Baltimore’s top bats – Gunnar Henderson, Jackson Holliday, etc. – are lefties.

Look for the Orioles to play spoiler on Friday night.

Orioles vs Yankees same-game parlay (SGP)

Gunnar Henderson is 2-4 against Will Warren with a double. While we are working with a very small sample size in terms of H2H data, the numbers suggest Henderson’s success against Warren should be sticky.

Henderson hits .309 against the fastball – Warren’s most used pitch – when facing righties and has also hit for average vs. the changeup. If there are runners on, Henderson’s a real threat to drive them home.

Colton Cowser has hit safely in 55% of road games this year and is 2-5 against Warren with a pair of doubles. He’s hit for a lot of power against the fastball, which should serve him well in this matchup.
