Orioles vs Twins Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today’s MLB Game

Dean Kremer's strikeout rate has plummeted and, as a result, the Orioles starter has been hit around the ballpark for much of the season. The Twins lineup is in a groove and will knock him out of today's game before the end of the sixth.

The Minnesota Twins look for a series sweep when they host the Baltimore Orioles in Game 3 at Target Field.

Baltimore righty Dean Kremer is coming off his best start of the season, but my Orioles vs. Twins predictions don’t expect his good fortune to continue today.

Read on for my MLB picks for Thursday, May 8.

Orioles vs Twins prediction

My Orioles vs Twins best bet: Dean Kremer Under 17.5 outs (-125 at DraftKings)

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer blanked Kansas City on three hits across seven frames in his last start.

Kremer punched out only two, but it's followed a trend that’s seen the righty's strikeout numbers decline sharply from a 22% career mark to a measly 13% this season.

The Baltimore righty has pitched well into the fifth inning on multiple occasions, but his last start was the first time he’s cleared 18 outs.

The lack of whiffs is primarily responsible for the early hooks and the 5+ earned runs he’s surrendered in four of seven starts.

Opposing batters are slapping Kremer’s once-dependable cutter around the yard for a .314 BA in four of six previous starts.

Kremer won’t find it easy getting 18 or more outs against a red-hot Minnesota Twins offense that doesn’t strike out much and has already plated 14 runs in this series.

The Twins' .334 BABIP and .343 wOBA across the past two weeks suggest Minnesota’s hot bats should continue, and I’m betting Kremer doesn’t record 18+ outs today.

Orioles vs Twins same-game parlay (SGP)

Dean Kremer Under 17.5 outs

Dean Kremer Under 4.5 strikeouts

Harrison Bader 1+ hits

Byron Buxton 2+ total bases

Kremer’s only struck out 5+ batters once this season, which was on Opening Day.

Harrison Bader has been hot, hitting safely in eight consecutive games, and while the sample size is small, he is 2-for-2 lifetime against Kremer.

Red-hot Byron Buxton has cleared his total bases prop number (1.5) in six consecutive games, five of which were multi-hit efforts. He can clear this prop with one swing or string together multiple hits. A healthy Buxton has always been a dangerous proposition.
