The Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox begin a four-game set at Fenway Park tonight.

Baltimore snapped an eight-game losing streak last night, but my Orioles vs Red Sox predictions expect it to return to its losing ways.

Here are my free MLB picks for this AL East showdown on May 22.

Orioles vs Red Sox prediction

My Orioles vs Red Sox best bet: Red Sox moneyline (-125 at Sports Interaction)

Lucas Giolito will toe the rubber for the Boston Red Sox today. The veteran has struggled, pitching to a 7.08 ERA with an expected ERA of 5.31 through four starts.

The Baltimore Orioles respond with lefty Cade Povich, who has a 5.23 ERA with an xERA of 5.84 across eight starts. While the starting pitching might be a push, Boston has the advantage in a few other key areas.

The Red Sox have been significantly better at the dish, ranking seventh in the majors in OPS (.743) with that number ticking up to .776 against southpaws. Meanwhile, the Orioles are 22nd in OPS (.690) with that dipping to .640 on the road.

The Red Sox also have the superior bullpen, with their relievers pitching to a 3.62 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP. Meanwhile, Baltimore's pen is 25th in the majors in ERA (4.88) and 26th in WHIP (1.49).

With Boston also benefiting from home field advantage, back it on the moneyline against an O's squad just 3-14 in its last 17 games.

Orioles vs Red Sox same-game parlay (SGP)

Red Sox moneyline

Ryan Mountcastle Under 1.5 total bases

Rafael Devers Over 0.5 walks

Giolito has been awful, but the stiff 20 mph wind blowing towards the infield will impact the offense of Baltimore's power hitters like Ryan Mountcastle. The first baseman is slugging just .327 this season and has gone below 1.5 total bases in 31 of 46 games.

The wind might keep fly balls inside the park, but it won't affect the ability of pitchers to throw strikes and balls.

Povich has walked 11 batters over his last five starts, and Baltimore's relievers have really struggled with control (91 walks through 182 2/3 innings). Rafael Devers is tied for second in the majors in walks (39) and has been given a free pass in 12 of his last 16 games.
