Mariners vs Guardians prediction

Mariners vs Guardians best bet: Logan Gilbert Over 6.5 strikeouts (-120)

Logan Gilbert is having a respectable campaign for the Seattle Mariners, going 4-5 with a 3.69 ERA in 19 starts. The statistic that stands out the most, however, is his strikeouts. The right-hander has racked up 138 Ks in 97.2 innings of work. Gilbert has been a strikeout pitcher ever since he came up to the Majors.

As previously mentioned, Gilbert sat down 13 via the K last time he took the mound against the Athletics. In fact, he’s cashed the Over in punchouts in five of his previous eight outings. In two of those, Gilbert finished with six strikeouts, a tad shy of tonight’s total.

The Cleveland Guardians rank 16th in the Majors in team strikeouts. Gilbert has a minimal track record against Cleveland, but he has struck out 50 in 39 innings on the road this year.

While Gilbert’s ERA sits at 6.00 away from T-Mobile Park, I’ll take him to rack up the strikeouts tonight, even if it ends up being a poor start.

Mariners vs Guardians same-game parlay (SGP)

Although very few hitters in the Guardians lineup have faced Gilbert, Jose Ramirez is one of them. He’s 4-for-13 against him with a home run. The slugger finished 1-for-4 on Friday evening, smacking a double.

That’s the first time he’s cashed Over 1.5 total bases in four games, but it’s hard to ignore his success with Gilbert on the hill. I’ll take Ramirez to do some damage tonight.

Over to Julio Rodriguez, who is absolutely raking at the moment. The Mariners' superstar has cashed the Over in hits in two of his last four appearances. He was 2-for-4 in back-to-back games and also went 1-for-4 in Friday’s loss to the Guardians with an RBI.

He’ll face Gavin Williams tonight, and while it’s a small sample size, Rodriguez is 2-for-3 with a double against the right-hander. He swings it substantially better on the road, hitting .299 compared to .225 at home.
