HR picks for August 6
Teoscar Hernandez (+270 at DraftKings)
Teoscar Hernandez has big-time power, and he showcased just that on Tuesday evening. The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 12-6, and Hernandez played a massive part, smacking two home runs at Dodger Stadium.
The veteran now has 18 bombs on the year, and 11 have come at home. He’ll face left-hander Matthew Liberatore today, and Hernandez is batting .310 versus southpaws with six round-trippers.
He has four long balls in his last 10 games, and out of the 10 homers Liberatore has given up, nine have been off the bats of right-handed hitters.
Bo Bichette (+330 at DraftKings)
The Toronto Blue Jays have completely exploded in Denver against the Colorado Rockies, scoring a ridiculous 25 runs through the first two games of the series. They’re back at it today, with the struggling Kyle Freeland on the mound.
Bo Bichette just went deep twice on Monday in the opener and is swinging it extremely well, running his season total up to 15 bombs.
Bichette has five homers off left-handed hurlers, and the ball flies in the Mile High City. Freeland has also allowed 15 HRs in 20 starts this season, with right-handed batters hitting 14.
Ozzie Albies (+700 at DraftKings)
While Ozzie Albies is having a down year, with only nine home runs, the 28-year-old has a serious track record against tonight’s starter, Jose Quintana.
Albies is 8-for-16 lifetime with three round-trippers against the Milwaukee Brewers lefty. He’s terrorized Quintana in the past. Albies hasn’t homered against a southpaw yet this year, but this is the perfect time to change that.
