Julio Rodriguez (+500 at DraftKings)
Julio Rodriguez is having a respectable campaign for the revamped Seattle Mariners, who just made a flurry of moves at the trade deadline. Rodriguez has 21 home runs and 62 RBI to go along with a .254 average. He’s found his power stroke lately, going deep in two of his last five games to begin August.
Rodriguez went yard on Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox and will like today’s matchup. He’s 1-for-3 lifetime against Sox starter Shane Smith with a round-tripper. He’s smacked 12 homers off right-handed hurlers and has a lot of confidence right now.
It wouldn’t be surprising if J-Rod put another one in the bleachers in the series finale.
Oneil Cruz (+425 at DraftKings)
Oneil Cruz is a freak of nature on a baseball diamond, with all the tools you could ask for. He hits baseballs extremely hard, and he’s managed to go deep 12 times this season. Cruz has one bomb through six games so far this month.
Essentially all of his power damage comes against righties, taking them yard 17 times. Brady Singer is on the hill today for the Cincinnati Reds, and Cruz has had success against the right-hander in the past, going 2-for-5. Singer has allowed 13 homers in 22 starts.
Of those 13, 10 of those long balls have been off the bats of left-handed hitters like Cruz.
Cal Raleigh (+265 at DraftKings)
Cal Raleigh continues to put up historic power numbers. He hasn’t missed a beat since winning the Home Run Derby in Atlanta and is now up to 42 round-trippers on the year. The slugger hasn’t gone deep yet in August, but considering his overall consistency, it’s only a matter of time.
Plus, he's 1-for-2 against Smith lifetime with a double. Raleigh tends to thrive against righties, smacking 26 home runs. He’s already got a long ball against the White Sox this year, and Raleigh has no issues producing at home. He's left the yard 19 times at T-Mobile Park.
