HR picks for July 20
Eugenio Suarez (+295 at DraftKings)
The Arizona Diamondbacks host the St. Louis Cardinals in the afternoon portion of Sunday’s MLB slate. Arizona’s Eugenio Suarez returned from the All-Star break in great form, homering twice in last night’s 10-1 victory over St. Louis.
That now marks four home runs over the past four games for Suarez, who boasts a 1.583 slugging percentage (SLG) and 2.208 OPS over that stretch. This success should continue against right-hander Miles Mikolas.
Suarez has hit two home runs through 17 at-bats against Mikolas, posting a .824 SLG and .817 expected slugging percentage (xSLG).

At the same time, the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Milwaukee Brewers. Another pitcher to fade Sunday is Milwaukee’s Jose Quintana, who has unsustainably outperformed his analytics thus far.
Quintana ranks in the 29th percentile in expected ERA (xERA) and owns a .424 xSLG. If anyone is likely to take advantage of this expected regression, it’s Freddie Freeman. Through 18 at-bats against him, Freeman boasts a .500 SLG with one home run.

Another Dodgers hitter to target in this matchup is Shohei Ohtani. Like Freeman, Ohtani has previously homered against Quintana.

Ohtani ranks in the 100th percentile in xSLG, barrel rate, and hard-hit rate, and there’s no reason to believe he'll slow down anytime soon.
