MLB Home Run Props, Picks & Odds Today for May 29: The Butler Did It

Lawrence Butler gets a great matchup against homer-prone Blue Jays SP Jose Berrios and we're getting a fantastic price on his home run prop. We're also looking at two slugger's from this afternoon's Phillies-Braves game.

Today’s MLB player props are eyeing A's outfielder Lawrence Butler to break out of his recent funk in a big way against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Additionally, I'm looking to capitalize on some afternoon fireworks with Kyle Schwarber and Ronald Acuna Jr. on Thursday, May 29.

HR picks for May 29

Kyle Schwarber (+275 at DraftKings)

Kyle Schwarber just hit home run No. 300 of his career a couple of weeks ago, which is a special milestone in itself. He’s one of the most consistent power hitters in the sport and that’s continued in 2025. The 32-year-old has 18 bombs, ranking third in MLB.

The slugger has three long balls in his last eight contests and the Philadelphia Phillies will face the Atlanta Braves in a doubleheader today. AJ Smith-Shawver gets the ball in Game 1 and although Schwarber is 0-for-1 against him, he has eight homers at home and also has clubbed eight off right-handed hurlers.

The odds aren’t out yet, but also keep an eye on Schwarber for Game 2 of the series. He has terrorized Chris Sale, going 4-for-9 with a pair of home runs.

Ronald Acuna Jr. (+425 at DraftKings)

I had Ronald Acuna Jr. in Wednesday’s picks but the Braves were rained out. He's had success against Phillies SP Cristopher Sanchez, going 3-for-6 lifetime with one of those leaving the yard.

Acuna has returned with a bang since making his season debut last week, smacking two homers in just four games. He’s a .315 hitter versus Philadelphia with 17 home runs in 78 games. This will be his first of the NL East rivalry in a while and you better believe Acuna will be ready to roll.

The former MVP should have some success this afternoon for our MLB picks.

Lawrence Butler (+450 at DraftKings)

A's fans don’t have a lot to be excited about, but Lawrence Butler is certainly a promising player. The youngster secured a huge extension before the campaign began, and he’s played relatively well so far, batting .248 with eight home runs.

Butler has swung it a mile better against righties, hitting .278 compared to a .146 average against lefties. The Athletics face the Toronto Blue Jays tonight, and they hand Jose Berrios the ball. Butler is 2-for-6 lifetime versus the right-hander with a bomb.

Berrios has trouble with the long ball as well, allowing 10 already in 2025. Butler is hitting .412 in his career against the Jays with two home runs in only four games. No. 9 of the season could be coming here.
