HR picks for May 25

Salvador Perez 1+ home runs (+370 at DraftKings)

The Minnesota Twins host the Kansas City Royals in the afternoon portion of Sunday’s MLB slate. Salvador Perez has had a strong end to his week and is worth backing on Sunday.

Over his past two games, Perez boasts a .556 batting average, 1.000 slugging percentage, and 1.600 OPS. He has hit one home run and one double over nine at-bats.

That success could continue against right-hander Bailey Ober, who takes the mound for Minnesota. In 24 plate appearances against Ober, Perez has homered twice and recorded a .727 slugging percentage.

Paul Goldschmidt 1+ home runs (+425 at DraftKings)

Later in the afternoon, the Colorado Rockies host the New York Yankees at hitter-friendly Coors Field. Right-hander Antonio Senzatela takes the mound for Colorado and should serve as a solid fade candidate.

Through 10 starts this season, Senzatela is 1-8 with a 6.34 ERA and 1.97 WHIP. His underlying metrics are even worse.

Entering this matchup, the right-hander ranks in the bottom quarter of the league in expected ERA (xERA), average exit velocity, barrel rate, and hard-hit rate. That is good news for Paul Goldschmidt, who owns a .762 slugging percentage with two home runs in 24 plate appearances against Senzatela.

Cody Bellinger 1+ home runs (+450 at DraftKings)

Sticking with the same matchup, Goldschmidt’s teammate Cody Bellinger is also worth backing in the home run market. Like Goldschmidt, Bellinger has a solid track record against Senzatela.

In 29 plate appearances against the right-hander, Bellinger owns a .481 slugging percentage with one home run. He also enters this contest in strong form.

Over his past six games, Bellinger has posted a .435 batting average, 1.000 slugging percentage and 1.481 OPS. He has hit three home runs during that stretch.
