HR picks for May 2

Teoscar Hernandez (+400 at DraftKings)

Teoscar Hernandez is having a very impressive campaign for the defending World Series champions. He’s hitting .310 with nine home runs and 32 RBI.

The Dodgers slugger has homered in three of his last five games and went deep in three straight contests earlier in the week.

Los Angeles faces the Atlanta Braves tonight, and they will send Grant Holmes to the hill. He’s already allowed five bombs in six appearances in 2025, and Hernandez is 1-for-1 lifetime against Holmes with a long ball.

Hernandez also smacked three homers in only seven games versus Atlanta last season. Given how hot he is right now, this bet is worth a look.

Aaron Judge (+165 at DraftKings)

Aaron Judge is part of my MLB picks a lot, but that shouldn’t be a surprise. He’s tied for first in the majors with 10 home runs. He also leads the MLB in average (.427), hits (50), and RBI (32).

The reigning AL MVP has left the ballpark in three of his last four and continues to rake on a daily basis. No one can get him out.

The New York Yankees start a series with the Tampa Bay Rays tonight, and they send Ryan Pepiot to the bump. He’s been prone to the long ball already, giving up eight home runs in only six starts.

Judge is 2-for-6 against Pepiot with a pair of singles. After a bit of a cold streak when it came to power, the veteran has found his best again, and he has a great chance of keeping that run going against a guy who has issues with the HR.

Vinnie Pasquantino (+375 at DraftKings)

The Kansas City Royals aren’t hitting a lot of home runs through the first month of the season, but Vinnie Pasquantino does lead the team with four of them. He had a career-high 19 long balls in 2024. He’s very capable of getting under one and going yard.

The reason I’m eyeing this pick is due to who the Baltimore Orioles are starting tonight. Dean Kremer is on the mound, and he has a brutal 7.04 ERA with seven homers allowed in six appearances. Pasquantino has also had prior success against him, going 2-for-7 with a home run.

Three of his four bombs have come against right-handed pitchers as well. Lock this bet in.

  1. Aaron Judge, Yankees (+170)
  2. Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers (+235)
  3. Kyle Schwarber, Phillies (+215)
