The Cleveland Guardians and Kansas City Royals will see a lot of each other today, slated to play a pair of games after their series opener was rained out on Friday night.

My Guardians vs. Royals predictions see the bats shining in Game 2, with Vinne Pasquantino continuing to make the most of a one-sided battle against Tanner Bibee.

Let’s take a closer look with my MLB picks on Saturday, July 26.

Guardians vs Royals prediction

My Guardians vs Royals best bet: Vinnie Pasquantino Over 1.5 total bases (+135 at bet365)

Cleveland Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee is a solid pitcher, but this matchup slants in Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino’s favor.

Bibee has struggled against left-handed bats this year, allowing a much higher batting average, ISO, and 1.7 homers per nine innings.

Conversely, Pasquantino is much better against righties than lefties in terms of average (.285 vs .215). He generates a lot more power to boot, with 14 of his 17 homers coming vs. right-handed pitching.

Pasquantino has also feasted on Bibee in their head-to-head matchups. Pasquantino is 7-for-11 with four extra base hits, including a pair of home runs and a triple. He is Bibee’s Achilles heel.

Pasquantino is coming off a performance with 10 total bases and has averaged 2.2 over his last 10 home games. This is not a matchup where he should cool off.

Guardians vs Royals same-game parlay (SGP)

Vinnie Pasquantino Over 1.5 total bases

Angel Martinez Over 1.5 total bases

Salvador Perez Over 0.5 hits

Angel Martinez has hit lefties extremely well this season, sporting a .323 average and .215 ISO while generating nearly as many extra-base hits despite having well over twice as many at-bats against righties. He’s also 3-for-3 against Kris Bubic in his young career.

Royals veteran Salvador Perez is one of the hottest hitters in baseball, having stacked up 27 total bases over the last six games, posting insanely high exit velocities while routinely barreling up on the ball.
