The Giants rank 30th in average and wOBA vs. lefties in August, which will be too much to overcome against Jake Bennett and the Red Sox (-220).

Jake Bennett has pitched to a 3.46 ERA this season, and he is in a great spot to lower that number against a floundering offense.

My Giants vs. Red Sox predictions and MLB picks expect Bennett's run suppression to be front and center in a multi-run Boston victory.

Who will win Giants vs Red Sox today: Red Sox -1.5 (-105)

The San Francisco Giants are in dreadful form facing left-handed pitching. They’ve hit a league-worst .181 against southpaws in August while generating little power (.089 ISO) and striking out at a 28% clip.

They shouldn’t pose much of a threat to Jake Bennett, who ranks in the 86th percentile in Pitching Run Value as a rookie.

The Boston Red Sox rank second in walk rate and third in average this month. They’ll be tough for a steady rotation of arms to silence for nine innings.

Back Boston on the Run Line to -117.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Jake Bennett's 94th percentile walk rate will force the Giants to string together hits to produce, something they haven't shown the ability to do against lefties.

Giants vs Red Sox Over/Under pick: Under 8.5 (-120)

The Giants are loaded with players who own painful results against lefties. Bryce Eldridge is the only projected starter with an xwOBA over .300, which is almost shocking.

This is the perfect matchup for Bennett to get back on track, and he has an excellent bullpen to hand the reins to when he departs.

San Francisco is going with a bullpen approach, and their relievers have combined to allow 0.48 home runs per nine innings in August.

Their ability to keep the ball in the park will help limit damage, making the Under a buy to -130.

Giants vs Red Sox home run prediction: Wilyer Abreu (+425)

Wilyer Abreu is my favorite home run candidate in this game. He continues to make powerful contact, leading the Red Sox with a 55% hard hit rate this month.

He is hammering the baseball and it’s leading to results. He’s hit .319 with a .362 ISO and 1.111 OPS, all of which are tops on the team among everyday players.

There isn’t one matchup he’ll be locked into for multiple at-bats, so I’m backing the most in-form hitter to figure things out.

Bet to +405.
