Spencer Torkelson has been at the center of so much of the Detroit Tigers' offensive success, especially against left-handers like Arizona Diamondbacks SP Eduardo Rodriguez.

onight's Diamondbacks vs. Tigers predictions and MLB picks for Monday, July 28, expect a big night at the plate from the slugging first baseman.

Diamondbacks vs Tigers prediction

My Diamondbacks vs Tigers best bet: Spencer Torkelson Over 1.5 total bases (+125 at Caesars)

Spencer Torkelson lives to tee off on left-handed pitching, posting a .275 average and .343 ISO vs. southpaws this season.

The Detroit Tigers first baseman faces off against a very exploitable lefty Monday night in Arizona Diamondbacks SP Eduardo Rodriguez, who is well past his best-before date. E-Rod has allowed a .307 average and .210 ISO on the season, giving up 1.7 homers per nine innings.

He’s having a difficult time generating outs and limiting power, which is a recipe for disaster against Torkelson.

The Tigers’ slugger also profiles perfectly against E-Rod’s arsenal. Rodriguez throws the four-seam and changeup most frequently against right-handed bats, and Torkelson possesses insane power numbers against both offerings, owning a .394 ISO vs. fastballs and a .292 ISO against changeups when facing LHP.

Torkelson’s power should shine through. Don’t be surprised if he clears this line with just one swing of the bat.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Diamondbacks vs Tigers same-game parlay (SGP)

Spencer Torkelson Over 1.5 total bases

Wenceel Perez Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

Corbin Carroll Over 0.5 hits

Wenceel Perez also shines against left-handed pitching, hitting .316 with a .368 ISO vs. southpaws on the year, albeit over a much smaller body of work. Rodriguez is fastball-dependent against righties, and that should only play into Perez's hands, as he's sporting a near .400 wOBA against lefties throwing that pitch.

We’re rounding out the parlay with Corbin Carroll to record a hit. He lives at the top of the order for a dangerous Diamondbacks offense and has hit safely in 69% of his games this season. Going up against Troy Melton and a struggling Tigers bullpen, he'll make some noise.
