The Arizona Diamondbacks are on a run. They’ve won four consecutive games and scored at least seven runs in four of the last six overall.
My Diamondbacks vs. Reds predictions expect the road team to continue piling up the runs, with youngster Corbin Carroll playing a pivotal role along the way.
Let’s take a closer look at my June 6 MLB picks.
Diamondbacks vs Reds prediction
My Diamondbacks vs Reds best bet: Corbin Carroll over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (-130 at Bet365)
Cincinnati Reds starter Nick Lodolo has extreme splits. He’s mowed down right-handed hitters effortlessly, allowing a .213 average and .617 OPS for the season.
His numbers are drastically worse against left-handed batters like Corbin Carroll. Lefties have managed a .362 average and .908 OPS, albeit over a smaller sample of hitters.
Lodolo throws fastballs, curveballs, and sinkers against left-handed hitters, using each pitch at least 19% of the time.
Carroll has feasted on that mix, hitting .316 against lefties with a .237 ISO and double-digit barrel rate over the last couple of months.
He’s hitting for average, he’s hitting for power, and he’s putting a lot of balls in play. All of those are great things for H+R+R.
Carroll consistently hits at or near the top of the order, meaning he should get as many at-bats as anybody against Lodolo. That’s good news as he profiles the best of Arizona Diamondbacks hitters against him.
It’s also worth noting that the Great American Ballpark is hitter-friendly and provides a bigger boost in terms of doubles, extra base hits, and on-base percentage for lefties than righties. Everything aligns for a strong offensive showing from Carroll.

Diamondbacks vs Reds same-game parlay (SGP)
Lourdes Gurriel is not a lefty, but he does profile well against what Lodolo throws, hitting .323 against lefties on the season.
He is one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now, having recorded at least one knock in 11 consecutive games and 17 of the last 20 overall.
He has struck out only 6% of the time against lefties throwing any of Lodolo’s pitches, making him a very difficult out.
Going the other way, Matt McLain stands out for the Cincinnati Reds. He is hitting .278 with a .333 ISO against left-handed pitchers throwing what Eduardo Rodriguez has in his arsenal.
He has made a lot of powerful contact to boot, boasting a hard-hit rate of close to 60% with a very high average exit velocity.
Not to mention, McLain has feasted on home soil all year long. He has hit safely in 70% of his games in Cincinnati, a stark contrast from his 35% success rate on the road.
