Bailey Ober's ninth percentile ranking in barrel rate should lead to a world of problems against the powerful Atlanta Braves (-130), who sit fourth in home runs.

The Atlanta Braves are -130 favorites against a Minnesota Twins team that's dropped three consecutive games.

With Atlanta boasting a better pitcher and more explosive offense, my Braves vs. Twins predictions and MLB picks are backing the road team to open the series with a win.

Who will win Braves vs Twins today: Atlanta Braves (-130)

Bailey Ober has been struggling this season, and he’s not showing signs of progress.

He posted a putrid 5.61 SIERA over the last month while striking out just 9.6% of opposing batters.

It’s hard to imagine his performance getting better against the Atlanta Braves. Isolating opponents who rank top-15 in xwOBA and ISO, Ober owns a 6.42 ERA and has allowed 1.99 HR/9 over eight starts.

The Braves have hammered weak competition all season (42-26), and I’m confident backing another win to come their way tonight.

Bet this to -145.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Ober's ninth percentile ranking in barrel rate will be problematic against the Braves, who sit fourth in home runs.

Braves vs Twins Over/Under pick: Over 9 (-120)

Ober bleeds runs at the best of times, and his results against quality offenses – such as Atlanta’s unit – are alarmingly bad.

He’s more vulnerable against lefties, and the Braves field plenty of good ones in Matt Olson, Drake Baldwin, Michael Harris, and Ozzie Albies, among others.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Twins have improved against lefties like Martin Perez lately, jumping up to 13th in wOBA the past month.

They also project to start six hitters with an OBP of .350 or higher against sinkers, changeups, and cutters from lefties. Perez uses those pitches consistently.

Play to -130.

Braves vs Twins home run prediction: Matt Olson (+290)

Ober relies on his fastball, changeup, and slider against left-handed batters, and that mix falls perfectly into Olson's wheelhouse. He's posted ISOs of .378, .289, and .643 when facing those offerings.

Digging deeper, Olson’s xSLG is almost .600, and he homered on more than 23% of his fly balls against that mix.

There is no get out of jail free card for Ober to rely on, and that spells trouble facing a talent like Olson.

Bet Olson to +270.
