The Texas Rangers are heating up throughout July.
After losing three of their last four games in June to fall to 41-44, the Rangers are now up to 55-50 thanks to a 14-6 stretch in their last 20 games. That includes victories in five straight games and eight of their last nine.
On the flip side, the Atlanta Braves' disappointing season has continued. They've lost four straight and six of their last seven to fall to 44-59. They're just 18-33 on the road while Texas is 33-20 at home.
To take that a step further, the Rangers are 27-8 as home favorites while the Braves are 4-15 as road underdogs.
Finally, the Rangers also have a slight advantage with Jack Leiter (6-6, 4.27 ERA) on the mound against Bryce Elder (4-6, 5.63 ERA). Texas also has the much better bullpen ERA at 3.27 compared to Atlanta's at 4.05.
