Blue Jays Picks, Predictions & Best Bets vs the Twins for August 27

Despite blowing last night’s game to Minnesota, the Blue Jays’ offense will spearhead a bounce-back effort against a middling Twins right-hander.

Jeff Hoffman and the Toronto Blue Jays need to quickly shake off Tuesday's performance as they go for the series win against the visiting Minnesota Twins tonight.

Hoffman coughed up the lead in the ninth, surrendering two home runs to the Twins.

Luckily, Toronto’s bats will have a great chance to stay hot and respond as they face off against Simeon Woods Richardson.

My Blue Jays predictions are fading the former Toronto prospect, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. leading the charge in our MLB picks for August 27.

Blue Jays predictions for August 27

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Fading SWR

Simeon Woods Richardson Over 4.5 hits allowed (+100 at BetVictor)

It was rough watching Toronto Blue Jays closer Jeff Hoffman serve up two home runs in the top of the ninth last night, singlehandedly losing the game to the Minnesota Twins.

That said, Toronto's offense missed some opportunities and probably should have scored more than four runs prior to the ninth, considering they tallied a whopping 14 hits in the game.

As long as the Blue Jays keep hitting, they’re going to have chances to win baseball games. Expect them to keep swinging some hot sticks when they dig into the box against Twins starter Simeon Woods Richardson.

The 24-year-old right-hander is making his 17th start of the season, and it’s been a bit of a bumpy ride. Command issues are generally the culprit, as Wood Richardson ranks in the 32nd percentile in expected ERA, 31st in strikeout rate, and 22nd in walk rate.

Now, he faces a Blue Jays team that leads the big leagues in batting average vs. right-handed pitching. Woods Richardson has allowed six or more hits in two of his last three starts.

At even money, I’ll happily back him to do it again tonight.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Simeon Woods Richardson Over 4.5 hits allowed

Eric Lauer to record a win

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 RBI

Countering Woods Richardson is Eric Lauer, who should be well rested and has pitched extremely well, pitching to a 3.05 ERA over 12 starts since becoming a regular in the Jays' rotation.

Lauer faces a Twins team that has the third-worst batting average and fifth-worst OPS since the sell-off at the start of August. I love his chances to pick up a win tonight.

Meanwhile, let's stick with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to drive in a run. He’s collected at least one RBI in each of his first four games since missing time with a hamstring injury.

It's not an interesting story. Seriously.
