No one ever said it would be easy. If the Toronto Blue Jays want to win the American League East, they’ll have to put on their big boy pants.

Their lead over the New York Yankees is down to one (two including the tiebreaker), and if they want to keep that lead, they’ll need to be at their best as the Boston Red Sox hand the ball to ace Garrett Crochet in Game 2 of this pivotal series.

My Blue Jays predictions explain why they’ll need a full-team effort to earn a win tonight.

Blue Jays predictions for September 24

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Deep pockets

Ernie Clement Over 1.5 Total Bases (+150 at BetVictor)

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., George Springer, and Bo Bichette (when he’s been healthy) have been incredible this season, and a big reason why the Toronto Blue Jays are in the hunt for the American League East pennant.

But what has made this Blue Jays team not just good, but so fun to cheer for, is they've gotten contributions up and down the lineup.

Addison Barger, Nathan Lukes, Myles Straw, and Ernie Clement have been a huge part of this team, and Toronto will need all hands on deck if it wants to steal a win from the Boston Red Sox tonight.

Boston hands the ball to ace, and potential Cy Young Award winner, Garrett Crochet. The southpaw has been outstanding this season, pitching to a 2.69 ERA while striking out 249 batters over 197 1/3 innings.

So, I’m backing Toronto's resident lefty masher to jump-start the offense tonight.

The Jays' utility infielder is hitting .331 with a .918 OPS vs. LHP. He’s also one of the few Jays with a decent track record against Crochet.

Clement is 3-for-8 in his career vs. the Boston hurler, sporting a .576 xBA and .761 xSLG in those at bats. Clement Over 1.5 total bases is too good a price not to bet tonight.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Ernie Clement Over 1.5 total bases

Max Scherzer Over 15.5 outs

Vladimir Guerrero Over 0.5 RBI

This is pretty close to a must-win game for the Blue Jays, and they hope they’ve got the right man for the job.

This is exactly the reason Toronto brought in Max Scherzer. To be an intense dog in a playoff environment and contribute to winning big games.

Yes, he’s coming off an awful performance vs. the Royals, but at least he’s rested. You know this is the type of moment he lives for.

The Jays will also need their best bats to be their best bats tonight. Vladdy also crushes lefties, sporting a .973 OPS this season. Add him to get an RBI in this SGP.

It's not an interesting story. Seriously.
