Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Pitchers' duel in Toronto

We have a stellar pitching matchup on the mound at Rogers Centre tonight with Chris Bassitt going for the Toronto Blue Jays and Jacob deGrom for the Texas Rangers.
Bassitt is 8-0 at home with a 2.48 ERA and 18 fewer total runs given up than while on the road, despite pitching 20 more innings at Rogers Centre. I expect him to spin another gem against a team ranked 26th in hits and 24th in runs, to go along with their 28th-ranked OPS of .674.
Meanwhile, deGrom has returned to being one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball again, sporting a 2.86 ERA with a 0.95 WHIP and a 9.5 K/9.
It is not ideal timing for Toronto to face deGrom either. The Jays’ offense has faded since the Rockies series. Over Toronto’s last six games, the team is hitting just .218 over this stretch, averaging 2.5 runs per game.
Additionally, the Under is 4-1-1 in that stretch for the Jays, while the Under is 68-51 this season in games involving Texas.
Expect another Under with two stud arms sizing up against ice-cold bats this evening.

Bassitt is an innings-eater, posting 18 or more outs in eight of his last 12 outings since July 1. Plus, he really shouldn’t have a problem with this Rangers lineup, which has a .188 batting average over its last 10 games.
This is why I’ll also take Bassitt to record the win tonight. He’s yet to lose at Rogers Centre, and deGrom has been tagged with the loss in three straight outings for Texas.
