Blue Jays Picks, Predictions & Best Bets vs the Angels for July 4

After delivering some timely hits vs. the Yankees, George Springer looks to stay hot against the Los Angeles Angels. As Mike DiStefano explains, that should be no trouble given the matchup vs. Kyle Hendricks.

We have a busy betting slate in Major League Baseball today, including the series opener between the Toronto Blue Jays and the LA Angels.

George Springer is turning back the clock by tearing it up in the batter's box, and today’s Blue Jays prediction expects that to continue.

Blue Jays predictions for July 4

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Springer delivers once more

George Springer Over 1.5 total bases (+105 at BetVictor)

There’s no hotter hitter in baseball right now than George Springer, who is coming off a series for the ages where he went 8-for-14 against the New York Yankees, with four home runs and 11 RBI, while collecting 20 total bases.

I’ll continue to ride the hot bat tonight with Springer’s bases prop set at 1.5, paying plus-money. He’s gone Over that total in three straight games, and in six of his last nine outings.

Overall, it’s been an impressive season for the right-handed slugger. Springer leads the Toronto Blue Jays with a .891 OPS, 15 home runs, and 51 RBI. He also ranks in the 92nd percentile in barrel rates, while displaying an exemplary eye at the plate this season, which should match up well against tonight’s Los Angeles Angels starter, Kyle Hendricks

Hendricks struggles against right-handed hitting, allowing opponents to barrel the baseball, resulting in a .322 batting average and a .902 OPS. He primarily relies on two pitches: a changeup and a sinker, which are each used roughly 37% of the time.

While Springer has struggled with the change-up this year, he’s hitting .362 against the sinker. So I’d expect Springer to show off his patience at the plate and wait it out for that perfect pitch to hit.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

George Springer Over 1.5 total bases

George Springer Over 0.5 RBI

Addison Barger Over 0.5 doubles

We’ll continue to pound the Springer props and take Over 0.5 RBI. He had 11 in the series against New York and has 33 ribbies in his last 31 outings. Additionally, the Angels have allowed the seventh most runs in baseball.

Lastly, let’s continue to ride Addison Barger's bat too, by taking the Over on 0.5 doubles tonight. Barger has two doubles in his last outing, bringing that total up to a team-high 20 on the season. Additionally, Hendricks has a .902 OPS vs right-handed hitters, giving up 20 extra base hits this year in 16 outings. Oh, Barger also crushes the sinker, batting .407 against that pitch with a .566 slugging rate.
