The relentless Detroit Tigers are running the show in the AL Central — and they’ll look to build on their division lead when they face the A's.
Detroit cruised to a big 11-4 win in last night’s clash behind a 13-hit effort, and my A’s vs. Tigers predictions signal more fireworks from a lineup that ranks inside the Top 5 in runs scored this season, specifically from Riley Greene.

My A's vs Tigers best bet: Riley Greene Over 1.5 total bases (+145 at bet365)
⚾ Pick Analysis
There’s good form. There’s great form. And then there’s a level above that, where Riley Greene finds himself amid his eye-catching June rampage.
Greene provided a spark again yesterday for the Detroit Tigers, with a 4-for-5 outing, including a two-RBI single to put the finishing touches on the scoreline. That makes it 31 hits and 21 RBI this month for the breakout left-hander on the way to a scorching .388 batting average and a 1.082 OPS.
In short, he’s on a roll — and I’m grabbing these plus-money odds for the Over on 1.5 bases for Greene tonight against the struggling A’s.
He’ll take on Oakland lefty Jacob Lopez here and, while there’s no getting away from the fact that Greene’s production dips against left-handed pitching (.236 batting average), he’s seeing the ball so well at the moment that those splits don’t feel as meaningful. After all, Greene had no issues taking three bases off lefty Andrew Heaney in Detroit’s win over the Pirates last week.
He’s on pace to blow past his career bests across the board in his fourth season in the majors, and he’s racked up 2+ hits in five of his last seven games. That spells trouble for the A’s — and for Lopez, in particular, who’s coming off two good outings but only has eight starts under his belt in the Big Leagues.
Oakland has lost five of its past seven contests overall, and three straight matchups against the Tigers, so don’t be surprised if the hosts get the upper hand tonight, with Greene continuing his hot streak.
A's vs Tigers same-game parlay (SGP)
🚀 SGP Analysis
The Tigers are 27-12 at Comerica Park this year, so I’m adding Tigers moneyline to my SGP without hesitation. It helps that the A’s are slumping in a big way, losing 33 of their past 45 games, and the hosts have the experience edge on the mound with Jack Flaherty taking the ball today.
Flaherty is coming off two shaky starts, but he’ll like his chances against an Athletics team that’s scored six runs across its last three games and has cashed the team total Under in 22 of its past 38 outings.
Javier Baez stands out as another Tigers batter set to shine today. Baez boasts a .364 batting average against lefties, with four doubles and two homers in those battles, and he’s been destructive in 2025 with runners in scoring position (.321 batting average).
His production has jumped in June, with a 21-for-64 mark, and he’s thumped 13 hits from his last 10 contests. After just one at-bat as a pinch-hitter last night, Baez should be fresh for a bigger role here, and I’m comfortable with another wager on a Detroit hitter, with the hosts serving up 5.03 runs per game this season.
