Prediction market leader Kalshi and World Cup prediction market partner ADI Predictstreet announced a strategic partnership Friday.

Key Takeaways

  • ADI Predictstreet only launched three days before the World Cup began.

  • Kalshi handled $5.1 billion in trading volume during the first week of the World Cup.

  • Prediction markets gained a boost in momentum during the World Cup but have been growing rapidly for more than a year.

ADI Predictstreet has seen its company name and logo featured on LED signage boards surrounding the pitches of matches during the ongoing World Cup.

Friday’s announcement confirmed Kalshi branding will now appear alongside ADI Predictstreet in stadiums, on broadcasts, and in digital advertising. Kalshi will also help ADI Predictstreet expand its markets during and beyond the World Cup.

“This is a transformational moment for our industry,” said Dimitrios Psarrakis, CEO of ADI Predictstreet. “Kalshi has built one of the most recognized prediction market platforms in the world, together we have an extraordinary opportunity to leverage ADI Chain's capabilities to introduce prediction markets to millions of new users through football's biggest stage.”

ADI Predictstreet only launched three days before the World Cup got underway June 11. Psarrakis emphasized the company’s commitment to growth beyond the competition.

“Our ambition extends far beyond the World Cup,” he said. “We are building the foundations for a truly global prediction market ecosystem powered by world-class technology.”

Ready for long term

Kalshi already has already built significant momentum behind its prediction markets. It reportedly processed $5.1 billion in trades during the first week of the World Cup and $1.7 billion on Wednesday alone.

The company is also focused on expanding its global presence.

“The World Cup is the largest stage for any brand,” said Tarek Mansour, Kalshi co-founder and CEO. “We see this as a massive opportunity to increase global awareness and fan engagement.”

ADI Predictstreet has now assembled several high-profile partners, including sports streaming service DAZN and its U.S. market-access partner, Fanatics Markets.

The company provides its users with live market updates, event tracking, and internal monitoring systems using its ADI Chain. It also allows customers to live-stream matches without having to leave the platform.

World Cup prediction market probabilities

As prediction market news continues to be a hot topic during the World Cup, markets are trending in favor of a familiar name.

Kalshi’s market data at the time of writing has France (21%) as the leader in probability of winning the World Cup. Defending champion Argentina - which beat France on penalties in the 2022 final - is second at 16%.

Pre-tournament favorite Spain is next in line at 13%. The U.S. men's national team is ninth at 4.3%.
